Senior Triage & Brief Intervention Specialist
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Specialist to join our mental health team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting initial assessments, triaging clients based on urgency and needs, and ensuring that clients receive timely and appropriate care and providing brief interventions to clients. Candidate will also be co-managing the triage team members, to make decisions for proper allocation and to provide support whenever needed. This role requires a deep understanding of mental health issues, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive initial assessments of clients presenting with mental health concerns.
- Triage clients based on severity and urgency of their conditions, ensuring they receive appropriate and timely care.
- Provide brief intervention to clients.
- Co-manage, supervise and support triage team members.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation.
- Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, social services, and community resources to facilitate comprehensive care.
- Monitor client progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
- Collates data for outcome tracking, trending and reporting.
- Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in mental healthcare.
- Maintains and safeguards confidentiality of patient health information.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Psychology with postgraduate qualification in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health triage, crisis intervention, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders, assessment techniques, and intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Specialized training or certification in CBT.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
