Job Summary
As a Cost Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the financial management of our organization by analyzing, tracking, and controlling costs. You will be responsible for preparing detailed cost reports, analyzing cost trends, and providing insights that drive cost-effective decision-making. Your role will involve working closely with various departments to gather cost data, assess financial performance, and support budgeting and forecasting processes. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively will be essential to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product costing and inventory management, responsible for inventory and COGS accounting (standard cost variance report, efficiency report etc).
- Setting standard costs of manufactured goods and implement product costing in SAP B1
- Streamlining work processes within the Finance Department to improve productivity and effectiveness
- Month end, year end accounts closing & financial reporting
- Ensure compliance of various business/operating units to conform to corporate governance, group reporting policies and statutory regulations
- Prepare monthly related financial reports, analysis of actual results & budget variances & management reports.
- Annual budgeting and financial forecast
- Liaison with auditors/tax agent on year end audit
- Any ad-hoc assignments and projects
Our Dream Candidate:
- Degree in Accountancy/Finance or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 3 years of experience with exposure to a wide range of costing, inventory management, finance and accounting responsibilities, including one at accountant level
- Proven track record of motivating and leading a team of at least 2 team members
- Manufacturing exposure
- Strong in financial accounting and internal control system and is technically competent
- Well organized and structured thought process
- Meticulous with attention to details
- Good report writing and communication skills
- Strong planning skills to support dynamic business requirements and to meet tight reporting deadline
- Ability to motivate and coach team members
- High degree of initiative & problem-solving skills
- Working experience and comprehensive understanding of ERP systems. Knowledge of SAP B1 ERP system, WMS would be an advantage
