THE ROLE
Reporting to the Banner Finance Business Partner, your responsibility is to support the stakeholders in driving financial performance and decision making within the SG Food format business. You will be working directly with the SG Food business to help manage store and category performance and profitability, design and deliver BAU and strategic initiatives that can drive our company forward, making a direct impact on our customers.

Additional responsibilities will include but are not restricted to the following:
- Work with the finance business partners to produce the annual budget and reforecasts including commentary for regular business review. Highlight future risks and opportunities in the rolling forecasts.
- Prepare the weekly, monthly, quarterly category and store performance business review, regular variance analysis with actionable insights using the digital tools, market insights. Align with accounting services and finance controllers to ensure month-end landing numbers are accurate and investigate material variances versus forecast.
- Support the REC process for property expansion plan, lease renewals by performing the financial modelling and scenario analyses, challenge business assumptions and make recommendation, track post performance and highlight key learnings.
- Facilitate the cost price increase case validation end to end process, work directly with commercial and product managers and learn to navigate commodity trends
- Support ad-hoc analysis and generate actionable insights & business recommendations that will drive end to end profitability improvement, through financial modelling of financial and non-financial data (e.g. market insights and trends, profitability, cost and efficiency analysis)
- Identify and define process improvements and digitalization to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of driving better performance
REQUIREMENTS
- A CA/CPA/CIMA/CFA qualification is preferred
- Relevant experience working with complex organisations, turnaround, fast paced environment, preferably within supermarket retail or big 4
- Solid financial acumen with a sound understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Foundational knowledge of financial modelling techniques to aid in property decision-making and scenario analysis
- Experience working with and influencing non-financial stakeholders especially Operations / Sales / Commercial / Merchandising / Buying functions
- Self-starter, with the ability to prioritise tasks within a challenging environment
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Proficient level in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Experience with digital tools i.e. SAP BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Power Automation are desirable
