Job purpose:
- Bonds within Capital Markets is one of the principal divisions of Corporate Clients.
- We have staff based in our trading hubs in Frankfurt and New York, with additional distribution capabilities in several locations across Western Europe and Asia.
- Bond Sales Asia desk based in Singapore is responsible for marketing and sales of plain vanilla products to clients in Asia across all Fixed Income asset classes (Rates & Credit).
- The job holder will work under the direct supervision of senior staff in helping to maintain relationships and service the requirements of the clients in Asia.
- Develop knowledge of Corporate Clients businesses and products, especially in the Fixed Income space.
Key activities:
- Help with daily bookings of bond trades, prepare bond axes, presentation materials and term sheets, as well as assist with pricing request (data gathering).
- Assist in the onboarding and Know Your Clients (KYC) processes.
- Work with senior staff in co-ordinating projects, manage progress and ensure objectives are delivered.
- Assist in the development of new processes, systems and procedures to meet changing business requirements.
- Adhere to the client governance policies and procedures and related Compliance tasks within the first line of defence concept of the bank, publish in the bank’s intranet.
- Have a good understanding and report on regulatory changes that could impact clients and how they could be mitigated.
- To adhere to all relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Provide other ad-hoc support where required and any other jobs assigned by the bank.
Formal education:
- University student from a top rated institution.
- Able to commit for a minimum of 6 months (anything shorter will not be considered).
- Any MAS CMS exams, e.g. Dealing in Securities, would be good to have but not a must.
Specialist knowledge (work experience, further qualification):
- Able to demonstrate an exceptional degree of initiative.
- Able to deliver in a high pressure and results orientated environment.
- Have a high degree of interest in sales and marketing in the banking industry.
- A good level of computer literacy, including Excel spreadsheets and Powerpoint.
- Mandatory fluency in both written and spoken English. Any other Asian language (Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, etc.) is a plus.
- Work Experience not required, but a plus.
