As the Head of Finance, you will develop and manage the Country Finance and Controlling functions, with the objective of supporting the management decision-making process and contributing to the achievement of the business objectives, whilst meeting regulatory requirements, overall Finance guidelines, legal framework and accounting standards.

Responsibilities:

• Set directions and strategies for controlling and accounting for the country to ensure that financial transactions, policies and procedures meet the organization's short and long-term business objectives and are conducted in accordance with regulatory standards
• Provide leadership in the definition of local finance & controlling strategy, policies and procedures within overall Country context, underpinning the success of the business
• Ensure accurate, transparent, relevant and timely management reporting to division and executive board, including financial (CREST) and operational data
• Continuously improve financial processes, systems, tools and techniques
• Take appropriate measures to remedy financial risk
• Ensure proper billing and cash collection processes are in place
• Evaluate investment and acquisition business cases and co-ordinate the review and approval process in compliance with the DPDHL policy
• Analyzes complex issues in finance and significantly improves, changes or adapts existing methods and techniques
• Promote cost efficient operations with focus on identifying cost saving measures
• Support yield initiatives to drive quality revenue and improve margins
• Support country rollout of CIS / CIM programs through promotion and facilitation
• Accountable for Directorship responsibilities for the subsidiary business
• Act as a financial advisor for cross-functional projects to support appropriate investment and financial analysis
• Support Regional Financial Management in Finance projects and initiatives, such as with pilot programs
• Recruit, manage, motivate, coach and develop key members of Finance team
• Provide clarity on future direction, roles and accountabilities to the Finance team
• Develop and drive a high performance service culture within the Finance Department, generate commitment, motivation and enthusiasm to company and business units

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting / Finance, preferably with MBA & audit qualification
• Professional accountancy qualification (CPA or equivalent)
• 15 years’ experience in various general finance functions accompanied by a wide experience at senior level, preferably in logistics / transportation industry or multinational companies
• Proven ability to manage and lead the team through deep knowledge of finance processes and tools

• Guides business regions to ensure that programs and projects are managed in a harmonized way and delivered to agreed scope, time, cost, quality, and governance.

• Build working relationships with the Business and IT teams in the entity's business regions and other Corporate Divisions to get alignment and leverage potential synergies.
• Ensure coordination with Corporate teams, and other Business Units as required to ensure alignment of projects, programs, and roadmaps with architectures, models, and overall strategy.
• Establish and manage relationships with external partners that support business divisional IT.
• Align with IT Services and other BUs on security measures with business focus in mind.
• Define and align present and future business and IT requirements
• Alignment with Architecture, Technology, IT & Enterprise strategies
• Ensure alignment with the IT risk management policies within business division IT.

• Minimum 10 years of multi-disciplined IT experience including:
  • Experience in a large matrix organization(s), having gained broad expertise managing large, network-wide programs and projects tied to business goals.
  • Global experience, collaboration, and teaming.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Demonstrated solid program and project management accomplishments in a cost-responsible environment with execution by virtual and global teams in a matrix environment.
• IT solutions development and implementation experience – proven track record for project managing and delivering complex IT solutions.
• Ability to team with and manage a strong partner/supplier system.
• Leadership capability supported by a broad analytical and technical background.
• Relationship management and cultural awareness in managing different nationalities, managing across borders, negotiating and influencing different cultures, and building strong relationships.
