Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Finance Manager to manage the financial operations of our Southeast Asia entities. You will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting functions, including GST submissions, corporate tax filings, accounts payable and receivable, cash flow management, and treasury. Additionally, you will play a critical role in financial planning and analysis, reporting, compliance, and financial systems management. This role also includes building and leading a finance team while working closely with senior management to drive financial strategies that support the company's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Operations Management
- Oversee Regional Finance Activities: Manage financial operations for Southeast Asia entities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and alignment with company policies.
- Accounting Functions: Supervise daily accounting processes, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger (GL), and bank reconciliations.
- GST Submission & Corporate Tax Filing: Oversee the preparation and timely submission of GST returns and corporate tax filings across Southeast Asia, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
- Treasury Management & Cash Flow: Manage liquidity and cash flow for Southeast Asia operations. Oversee daily cash management, cash forecasting, and working capital optimization.
- Financial Systems & Technology: Ensure that accounting systems are effective and up-to-date. Leverage financial technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
2. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes across Southeast Asia entities, working with business units to establish financial targets and performance metrics.
- Financial Performance Analysis: Provide insightful financial analysis, including variance analysis, financial forecasting, and scenario planning to senior management.
- Strategic Financial Insights: Offer recommendations based on financial data to support business growth, cost management, and profitability improvements.
3. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Financial Reporting: Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring that reports are accurate, timely, and compliant with local accounting standards and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
- Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with local accounting regulations, tax laws, corporate governance, and internal controls across all Southeast Asia entities.
- Audit Management: Manage relationships with external auditors, ensuring smooth audit processes and timely resolution of audit issues.
4. Team Leadership & Development
- Building & Leading the Finance Team: Build, develop, and lead a high-performing finance team responsible for daily accounting operations, ensuring the team is well-trained, motivated, and aligned with company objectives.
- Process Improvement & Efficiency: Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and controls to increase operational efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Team Collaboration: Foster a culture of collaboration and accountability within the finance team and across the broader organization.
5. Financial Systems & Technology Management
- ERP Systems Implementation & Management: Oversee the implementation and management of financial systems (e.g., ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Xero) to streamline accounting functions and improve financial data visibility.
- System Upgrades & Automation: Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance the efficiency of financial operations and reporting.
- Data Analytics: Leverage data analytics tools to improve financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting capabilities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (required).
- Professional Certification such as CPA, CMA, CA, or equivalent is preferred.
Experience
- At least 5-7 years of experience in finance and accounting, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proven experience overseeing financial operations across multiple countries in Southeast Asia (e.g., Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia).
- Experience in managing GST submissions, corporate tax filings, treasury, cash flow, accounts payable and receivable, and internal controls.
- Experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), financial reporting, and managing audits.
- Demonstrated experience with financial systems management (e.g., ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Southeast Asia tax laws and local accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Expertise in financial reporting, tax compliance, and financial management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop finance teams.
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced functions, financial modeling, and analysis).
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero) and financial technologies to automate and streamline processes.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin (required); proficiency in other Southeast Asian languages is a plus.
