Objective: To plan and procure direct materials to support the production plan for order fulfillment to customers and to keep inventory at an optimum level.
Job Description & Requirements
- Responsible for material requirements planning and procurement; plan and issue PO using computerized MRP II in a dynamic manufacturing environment and follow through to complete delivery and approval
- Manage operational communication directly with vendor
- Act on MRP messages for order follow up
- Ensure optimum inventory levels with safety stock to cover demand orders / forecast
- Ensure material availability and resolve shortages
- To collaborate with suppliers and freight forwarders to ensure supply continuity
- Review / resolve price and quantity discrepancies (invoice vs PO)
- To minimize and avoid slow moving and obsolescent materials
- To achieve Inventory Holding target
- To achieve On Time Delivery target for shipment to customers
Requirements
- Diploma in Supply Chain / Production Engineering.
- Preferably with at least 3 years’ Buying and Planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Possess good analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience in LEAN initiatives
- User of SAP planning and procurement modules
- Self-motivated and a good team player
