Summary

This TS&D specialist will play a key technical role in supporting the growth of the business under Packaging and Specialty Plastics of the Dow Chemical Company in different countries of SEA. The role is to be part of Dow’s cutting-edge technology development and resolve current and future scientific difficulties in material science.

Key responsibilities

1. Provide technical solutions

• Focus on client-side application development and technical support.
• Propose solutions to resolve internal and external technical issues related to the Packaging and Specialty Plastics business.
• Identify gaps of existing products and technology, help develop new products by working closely with R&D experts.

2. Interface with Customers

• Cultivate and maintain customer intimacy by interacting with customers on a regular basis. Work closely with sales counterparts to develop and solidify relationships with customers.
• Responsibilities include: visit customers, provide technical consultation and troubleshooting advice, coordinate test samples and results, documentation, technical presentation and lab results analysis.

Experience qualifications

• Master’s degree or above who graduate in 2024 or 2025, Major in Polymer Science and Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other relevant disciplines.
• Proven track record of customer issue resolving and technical troubleshooting.
• Fundamental understanding in the general area of polymer science and engineering, e.g. polymer chemistry, polymer physics, polymer processing and rheology, polymer characterization etc.
• Research Experience on plastic film or sheet formulation, process and application in packaging materials will be preferred.
• This role requires good English reading, writing and speaking. Chinese and Bahasa capability is a plus.

• Self motivated, proactive and confident. Possesses customer-oriented mentality. Can-do attitude.
• Can drive a project from beginning to the end under proposed time frame. Can set timeline and prioritize multiple projects.

• Travel about 30% of work time.

Overview
Dow Integrated Supply Chain Development Program (ISCDP) is a program designed to broaden your business acumen, cross-functional expertise and critical professional skills in Integrated Supply Chain. We are on the journey to the End-to-End (E2E) supply chain transformation to ensure our sustainable growth and strong competitiveness in Asia Pacific. As a new employee to Dow, ISCDP presents a well-designed development platform to set the foundation for a successful career with the company.

Program Structure

A Dow leader will organize you in two job assignments within Integrated Supply Chain, mainly in Dow Logistics, and Business Supply Chain Projects if appropriate. You will spend approximately twelve-eighteen months in each job assignment, learning best practices and processes that will help you develop critical functional and leadership competencies and skill sets. One or more senior Dow leaders will serve as mentors to guide you along the way.

We transition to E2E supply chain by breaking down silos and re-engineering the way we work. ISCDPer's work will include but not be limited to creating value, improving operational efficiency, reducing operational costs and providing superior service to improve customer experience. Demand Planning-to-Fulfillment (DP2F) is an integral part of the New Dow which requires us work across functions and disciplines with a customer-centric mindset in order meet or exceed customer expectations.

On top of your job assignments, you will be given special projects or initiatives, to complement your in-depth functional development in DP2F operation model and provide you invaluable learning and networking opportunities with senior leaders in Dow Integrated Supply Chain and other functions/businesses.

ISCDP is designed to build functional expertise and future leader potentials for Integrated Supply Chain. You will be expected to perform at levels beyond your peers, and at an accelerated pace of learning and development.

At the end of the program, you will have gained exposure to different types of work within Integrated Supply Chain, expanded your skills and developed professionally. As part of the Southeast Asia growth project initiative, Dow is looking for a sustainability manager to lead circular plastics initiatives and supply quality management efforts across the Southeast Asia region. This role would be based in Singapore and have dual reporting to Senior Business Sustainability Director of the Pacakaging & Specialty Plastics business and the regional growth project leader.

• You will lead demonstration projects to promote circularity concepts and actively implement new circular solutions and application development efforts.
• Identify and develop new market segments and business models to accelerate growth for circular plastics.
• Engage various internal stakeholders, including, but not limited to, Government Affairs, Geo leaders, other Sustainability, and business leaders, to ensure strong alignment and drive collaboration.
• Coordinate with existing and new partners from the supply side as needed, including supporting auditing, qualification, certification, and product supply availability and readiness.
• Manage the product quality by building robust quality system in our partners in Southeast Asia region. Manage toxicity testing with Dow’s analytical labs and toxicology team. Continue to drive PCR quality improvement and implement in recycler partners.
• Develop right quality procedures for PCR. Provides technical support to resolve quality complaints for PCR products in the Southeast Asia region.
• Data analysis and market study for sustainability and circular products, maintaining relevant regional database.
• Your role will be instrumental in proliferating circularity success stories, showcasing the tangible impact of Dow's initiatives in Southeast Asia.
• Play an active role in influencing new Government policies regarding plastics.
