We are a boutique CPE registered school offering classes to both mainstream children and children with developmental or academic challenges. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Science Teacher to inspire and empower students to reach their full potential.
As a Science Teacher in our school, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing effective strategies to support students with diverse learning needs. You will be responsible for developing engaging and accessible science curriculum tailored to individual student requirements, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom culture, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure the holistic development of all students.
What You'll Do:
- Design and deliver differentiated science lessons to meet the needs of students with diverse learning abilities and styles (Grades 7 to 10).
- Implement effective instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications to support students with special educational needs.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes diversity, equity, and belonging.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
- Utilize assistive technologies and resources to enhance learning outcomes for students with disabilities.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in special education and inclusive teaching.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field from an accredited university.
- At least 3 years of experience working with children with learning difficulties.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with students with varying abilities.
- Experience with British Curriculum experience preferred.
- You may be assigned a teaching role or a mix of both teaching and CCA duties depending on the needs of the school.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including linking assessments to IEP development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Proficiency in classroom and behavior management techniques and the use of appropriate intervention strategies.
- Able to start short notice or January 2025
