Element has an opportunity for a Machinist to join our rapidly expanding team. In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and non-routine machining assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision.

This role is located in Tuas, Singapore.

Job Duties:

• Uses cutting equipment to prepare specimens for testing as dictated in customer specifications
• Designs, sets-up and performs a variety of machining tasks according to customer specifications and requirements
• Possesses the ability to mentor and train machinists who have less experience through effective communication of machining process and technical data
• Ability to transfer technical knowledge of machining procedures/requirements and successfully satisfy and meet customer expectations
• Maintains equipment and schedules preventative maintenance and records dimensions in accordance with quality assurance requirements

Job Description:

• Working knowledge of laboratory safety and possess in-depth understanding of specimen preparation
• Must possess Diploma or any relevant Certifications with a minimum 2 years of working experience
• Depth of understanding related to machining concepts, measuring instruments and dimensional concepts
• Working knowledge of machine shop safety protocol
• Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and > 50 lbs. on occasion
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time

Element has an opportunity for a Metallurgy Technician. In this role, your primary responsibility is to perform routine, metallurgical, mechanical, failure, corrosion testing facilitating metallurgy operations at site or at a laboratory.

This role is based in Tuas location.

Job Duties:

• Perform routine mechanical testing (tensile, bend, charpy impact, hardness) including CTOD and metallurgical testing (micro / macro examinations) Involvement in site / field testing
• Coordinating with the technicians in the team to carry out work as per the planning schedule and assist with hazard identification and risk assessment exercises within their areas of responsibility
• Conduct either or combination of testing, analysis, calibration, monitoring, sampling and collection and sample preparation as directed
• Carry out routine laboratory tests, analysis, machining or preparation in line with authorized technical competence
• Carry out daily sample collection and ensure work compliance to ISO 17025 requirements

Job Description:

• Possess a minimum of Diploma in Metallurgy or related discipline, with 2-4 years of relevant working experience
• Good knowledge on international standards and codes
• Possess driving licence
• Good communication skills
• Self-motivated team playing with excellent organisational and communication skills
