Role Summary

Join our dynamic web3 finance team as a Accountant and play a key role supporting our financial operations. You'll gain valuable experience in traditional accounting while diving into the exciting world of web3 and blockchain technology.

Main Responsibilities:

• Assisting senior staff with core accounting tasks like audit schedules, budget, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Performing reconciliation for expenses, revaluation, inter-co transactions and other related financial activities.
• Performing administrative tasks, such as data entry, preparing invoices, processing claims and filing paperwork etc
• Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial records.
• Contributing to the month-end close process and maintain strong internal controls.
• Supporting audit, tax, financial planning and analysis, helping develop financial models and track variances to keep us on track.
• Ensuring timely and accurate quarterly and yearly tax submission for GST and Corporate tax.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail for accurate financial recordkeeping.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, ) and a willingness to learn new accounting-specific tools.
• A keen interest in the web3 space and a desire to learn about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
• Proactive and adaptable, with a can-do attitude to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Diploma / Degree in Accountancy
• Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, in particular MS Excel.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills
• Previous experience in finance or accounting is a plus, but recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.

JD:

1. Providing key investment decision support and research
2. Gathering, reviewing and analyzing key business operations data
3. Preparing models to support product development and investment decisions
4. Business process improvement, process mapping and ensuring key documentation is in place for all of operations.
5. Help develop objectives and strategies for the implementation of innovative solutions while optimizing existing systems, applications, and information
6. Make recommendations and present business advantages for technology initiatives and improvements
7. Develop, track and manage the annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing and technology operations
8. Structure technology policies, procedures, and standards to ensure organizational consistency and success
9. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and emerging projects/technologies for adoption within the company’s product development landscape

What you bring to EMURGO

• 2 to 4 years of experience within an investment banking or business analysis role
• A key business process improvement mind, strong financial acumen and great research/documentation skills
• Experience with communicating to business stakeholders, technical teams and the leaders of the company
• Good knowledge of traditional finance and fintech domains
• Ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams
• Expertise in strategic thinking and strategy execution
• A solid understanding of web 3.0
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams of engineers

What you’ll be doing

The Cardano Ecosystem Lead will work within the Business Development team to support formulation of the company's medium and long-term management policies; optimize the allocation of management resources; and implement and promote management strategies through collaboration with various departments to promote the growth of the organization and strengthen its competitiveness.

Cardano Ecosystem Lead would:

1. Have very strong global network in Cardano and knowledge of Cardano landscape – DEXes, Wallets, Defi Protocols, Wallets, NFT marketplaces/protocols, Web3 Gaming etc.
2. Give BD support & generate growth roadmap for our Cardano ecosystem Portfolio companies.
3. Be able to spot missing gaps in Cardano Ecosystem and reach out to relevant protocols to partner to fill those gaps.
4. Should be able to hit the ground running on Day 1 within Cardano landscape globally.
5. Be on the frequent lookout to partner our portfolio companies with other potential protocols within the Cardano Ecosystem.
6. Collaborate and partner with protocols to bring them to Cardano to increase Cardano’s TVL.
7. Increase understanding of the strengths of CARDANO technology and its community and identify competitive advantages for EMURGO.
8. Analyze industry trends, technological innovations, and market developments to identify new business opportunities.
9. Travel to events/conferences, whenever necessary.
10. Have good communication and presentation skills.

The Business Development team

The Business development team has the mandate to drive Cardano Adoption.
The team would spread across various verticals of Web3 space, including but not limited to, working within current Cardano token ecosystem, building PoCs, collaborating with other Layer 1s & 2s, working with enterprise & financial institutions.
Individuals in this team are expected to work on strategy; commercial adoption; decision-making; project management and execution; ecosystem development and research; identification and mitigation of legal, regulatory or other risks; as well as administrative support.

The Cardano Ecosystem Lead reports to the Global BD Director, working very closely with other stakeholders in Cardano ecosystem.
