Job Summary
As a Cosmetics Product Development Specialist, you will play a critical role in the development, testing, and commercialization of cutting-edge products. You’ll be responsible for formulating new skincare and personal care solutions, ensuring product efficacy and stability, and maintaining all necessary documentation throughout the development process. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions from lab formulations to full-scale manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Formulation: Research and develop innovative skincare, cosmetic, and personal care products from concept to commercialization.
- Testing & Evaluation: Conduct efficacy and stability testing on all new formulations, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive product development documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- GMP Compliance: Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in all product development activities.
- Hands-on Laboratory Work: Work directly in the lab, operating basic lab equipment and formulating new products.
- Production Support: Collaborate with the production team to help transition formulations to full-scale manufacturing, including support during plant trials and the start of production.
- Brand Support: Assist in the maintenance and improvement of current products in market, ensuring ongoing success and alignment with brand vision.
- Innovation & Research: Proactively research new raw materials, ingredients, and technical opportunities to enhance product offerings and stay ahead of trends.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in product development, specifically within cosmetics, skincare, or personal care industries.
- Skills:
- Proficient in skincare, haircare and bodycare formulation and the use of basic lab equipment.
- Familiar with GMP and regulatory requirements for product development and manufacturing.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of stability and efficacy testing protocols.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent discipline in hygiene and problem-solving skills.
