Job Responsibilities:
- Independently implement Design Safety Philosophy, HSE Plan, and standards for fire prevention systems (active and passive), HFE, etc.
- Conduct process hazard evaluations and analysis, including HAZOP/HAZID/SIL studies, and take action as needed. close-out
- Lead/Chair the HAZOP/HAZID/SIL workshops, as needed.
- Responsible for reviewing third-party safety studies such as FERA, dispersion analysis, EERA, ESSA, dropped items research, QRA investigations, and so on. Capable of carrying out independent equivalent safety investigations, if necessary.
- Independently design Active and Passive Fire Protection systems and provide Hazardous/H2S Area Classification paperwork, safety and firefighting layouts, escape route and lifesaving equipment layout, and other safety drawings.
- Perform safety key elements performance standards, RAM, fire and gas detection mapping, and so on in accordance with project requirements.
- Work as a package engineer for safety and firefighting equipment.
- Manage and direct Junior/Senior Engineers and Designers on Concept/FEED/Detailed Engineering projects.
- Provide health and environmental inputs to projects (inputs include health risk evaluations such as chemical exposure, noise and lighting, ergonomics/human factors engineering, environmental impact studies, etc.).
- Interface/coordinate with other engineering disciplines, clients, and take the lead in addressing technical issues pertaining to safety considerations.
- Capable of delivering project safety deliverables according to schedule.
- Provide feedback and support for projects in all safety elements, including progress reports.
Job requirements
- A bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or its equivalent from an authorized university.
- At least 22 years of relevant Design Engineering expertise.
- Have strong HSE Engineering experience in the Oil and Gas business, in Process Safety/Technical Safety, and worked for at least 3-5 years as a Lead in comparable projects.
- Has experience in design projects for offshore (FPSO/Platforms) and onshore (refineries, LNG facilities, storage terminals, etc.).
- Should have worked on a minimum number of offshore projects (FPSO/Platforms).
- Possess strong understanding of oil and gas process facilities, local and international process safety codes and standards, and regulatory/marine codes and standards (MODU, SOLAS, DNV/Lloyds Register).
- Should have hands-on experience with plot plan review, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL classification/verification, and other safety reviews (e.g., SIMOPS, ALARP).
