- Attend and contribute to meetings as required.
- Work collaboratively to create and review Individual Education Plans as required.
- Maintain planning documents identifying specific learning objectives, differentiated tasks and assessments.
- Monitor and document student progress.
- Utilise technology, when applicable, to enhance student learning outcomes.
- Organise and maintain a tidy, well-organised classroom and encourage students to take pride in their learning environment.
- Be responsible for all aspects of classroom management, including supporting the academic, social and emotional needs of all students in a positive and pro-active manner.
- Engage in professional dialogue and work collaboratively with colleagues, sharing expertise and respecting confidentiality.
- Be an advocate for student wellbeing, supporting a culture of safeguarding and child protection , and reinforcing the school-wide commitment to keeping students safe.
- Be familiar with the Safeguarding reporting procedures and follow protocols in the case of a Child Protection Issue.
- Reflect upon own professional practice to ensure an understanding of contemporary research and best practice.
- Participate in Professional Learning and appraisal procedures for the purpose of personal, professional and career development.
- Share in the management of pastoral care, health, welfare and behaviour of all students and in particular, those within your designated class group.
- Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Principal.
Qualifications
- The candidate should hold a minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Education or equivalent, or a Bachelor Degree in a subject followed by a PGCE, which is obtained from a recognised University or College.
- At least 2 – 5 years relevant professional teaching experience
- IB courses and training are highly valued at the appropriate level
- Knowledge of or willingness to acquire knowledge of inquiry based learning
- International experience is desirable
- Experience working within a specialist EAL and SEND provision
- Experience of/and or leadership training within a school context is favourable
