As a Brazilian Regulatory Compliance Coordinator for our FPSO project, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all operations and activities adhere to the regulatory requirements set forth by Brazilian authorities. You will work closely with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards governing offshore oil and gas operations in Brazil.
Responsibilities:
1. Regulatory Compliance Management:
- Stay updated on all relevant Brazilian regulations, laws, and industry standards related to offshore oil and gas operations.
- Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements to internal teams and stakeholders. Develop and implement compliance strategies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Permitting and Licensing:
- Coordinate the preparation, submission, and management of permits and licenses required for the FPSO project, including environmental permits, operational licenses, and other regulatory approvals.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and authorities to facilitate the approval process and address any compliance-related inquiries or issues.
3. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all regulatory approvals, permits, licenses, and compliance- related documentation.
- Prepare regular reports on compliance status, regulatory developments, and any potential compliance risks or issues for project stakeholders.
4. Internal Compliance Support:
- Provide guidance and support to internal departments (such as operations, HSE, legal, and procurement) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct compliance training sessions for relevant staff members to raise awareness and promote adherence to regulatory standards.
5. External Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, auditors, and other external stakeholders regarding compliance matters.
- Participate in meetings, consultations, and audits with regulatory bodies as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as law, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline). Advanced degree or certification in regulatory compliance is a plus.
- Proven experience (10 years) in regulatory compliance management within the oil and gas industry, preferably with a focus on offshore operations in Brazil.
- In-depth knowledge of Brazilian regulatory requirements and standards governing offshore oil and gas activities, including ANP regulations, environmental regulations (IBAMA), and health and safety standards (ANVISA, NRs).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory documents and requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, regulatory authorities, and external stakeholders.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (both written and verbal) is required.
Additional Information:
- This position may require occasional travel to project sites, regulatory offices, or other locations as needed.
- Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours may be required to accommodate project timelines and regulatory deadlines.
