POSITION OVERVIEW:
As an Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the logistical and operational aspects of our business. Your responsibilities will include planning delivery routes, vehicle management, buffet monitoring, warehouse cleanliness, kitchen hygiene compliance, scheduling, stock management, on-site driver spot checks, client meetings, site reconnaissance, and troubleshooting during events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedule and Delivery Planning:
- Plan efficient delivery routes for the next day, considering time, distance, and traffic conditions.
- Check orders in advance on the system to plan schedules and allocate manpower effectively.
Vehicle Management:
- Monitor and ensure the proper status, mileage, servicing, and fuel levels of all company vehicles.
- Regularly check and maintain the condition of driver vehicles to ensure safety and optimal performance.
Quality Assurance:
- Check and monitor daily buffets when the team is delivering food, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.
- Conduct spot checks on drivers during on-site setups to ensure adherence to operational standards.
- Ensure that the operations team follows kitchen hygiene protocols when entering the kitchen or handling food.
Warehouse and Storeroom Management:
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation in the warehouse/storeroom for efficient operations.
- Monitor and manage stock levels to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
Event Preparation:
- Attend meetings with clients, particularly for significant events, to discuss logistics and operational requirements.
- Conduct site reconnaissance to familiarize yourself with event locations and logistical details.
- Inspect delivery locations for details on loading/unloading bays, ensuring seamless delivery for drivers.
Event Management:
- Attend events and ensure both BOH and FOH are well coordinated.
- Address and rectify any sudden issues that arise during events to ensure smooth operations.
- Address and rectify any incident.
Requirement:
Catering experience is a must
Valid Class 3 licence
2 years experience in leading a team
Attention to detail
Willing to work outside of regular office hours
