About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with the Regional Director of Engineering, leading a dedicated team to oversee maintenance operations for hotel facilities, electrical systems, HVAC, kitchen equipment, emergency power systems, and more. Your efforts will ensure the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our guests while upholding preventive maintenance and energy conservation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor engineering team members, fostering a culture of excellence and safety.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the hotel's MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems, ensuring they are in optimal working condition to support daily operations.
- Preventive Maintenance: Establish and implement robust maintenance programs to enhance reliability, serviceability, and asset longevity.
- Budget Management: Plan and manage departmental expenses, prepare annual budgets, and oversee CAPEX projects to achieve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with international standards and local regulations while maintaining a systematic and cost-effective process for operating, maintaining, and upgrading hotel assets.
- Fire Life Safety Leadership: Identify hazards, address potential safety concerns, and lead fire life safety programs, including conducting regular audits and training programs.
- Energy Efficiency: Implement projects to improve plant efficiency, conserve energy, and reduce operating costs while maintaining exceptional guest service standards.
- Technical Expertise: Oversee the proper operation of life safety systems and energy management systems, ensuring a strong foundation for hotel operations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to support large-scale functions and address technical inquiries.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent technical qualifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in building management or engineering within the hospitality industry.
Expertise:
- Hands-on experience in hotel operations, repair, and maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge of MEP systems, life safety systems, and energy management systems.
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
- High levels of flexibility and adaptability to evolving operational demands.
- Proficiency in English and computer skills.
- Strong work ethic, project management skills, and problem-solving abilities.
