Purpose of the role

This role is to partner with Country Managing Director in the execution of strategic (commercial and operational) initiatives within the country. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing end-to-end project execution for the various key strategic initiatives in their country of operation. With the constant evolution of the Tax-Fee Shopping industry, various key strategic initiatives require competent project management oversight to ensure execution and delivery.

Responsibilities

· Leading Strategic Initiatives and Business Case preparation

o Analyse all aspects of strategic initiatives critically and apply business rationale to support/reject the initiatives and provide alternative recommendations, as needed

o Conceptualizes all new and ongoing strategic initiatives clearly and recommends a practical and feasible delivery timeline

o Lead discussions with upper management on strategic initiatives

o Creates detailed financial analysis and business cases on projects (able to utilize Microsoft Excel effectively for this purpose)

o Leads and responsible for all assigned strategic initiatives from approval to delivery stages

· Project Management

o Creates and executes project work plans and timelines and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements

o Manages day-to-day operational aspects of the project and scope

o Effectively communicates and leads relevant project information to different level of stakeholders (steering committee, local country management team and local operation/sales team)

o Works with teams in locally and regionally to meet agreed and critical milestones for initiatives

o Facilitates regular status meeting with upper management and project working team (across both local teams and global teams based in Europe and APAC)

o Ensures documents and major digital assets are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

o Resolves and /or escalates issues in a timely fashion

o Prepares the required project documentation (e.g. project handbook, project plans, project reports) and manages the execution of thereof all the projects. This requires establishing and managing the project team and collaborating with project owner. It includes communication around the project with internal and external stakeholders.

o Follows best practices in relation to ‘project management processes’

· Monthly Business Review / Strategic Business Review

o Supports Country Managing Director with Monthly Business Reporting by consolidating the business review deck (projects, commercial updates and controlling sections)

o Supports Country Managing Director with annual / bi-annual Strategic Business review by developing the presentation that houses all strategic initiatives, financial performances and analyses for discussion with upper management

Qualifications and education requirements

· University degree or similar relevant experience

· MBA preferred but not required

· Project Management Certification (PMI, IPMA) an added advantage

· Independent and self-motivating personality

· Persistence in following processes and procedures

· Strong written and oral ability in English

Specific skills and knowledge

· At least 5 years of professional working experience in an analytical or project management type role; management consulting experience an added advantage

· Competent with financial modelling and analysis

· Work experience across various functional areas (e.g. Sales, Marketing Operations, Finance)

Additional information regarding Hiring Process

· All shortlisted candidates are required to complete a Case Study that will be administered by the hiring manager in English

· The Case Study involves a real-life business problem that requires the candidate to analyse the business situation in depth and provide a recommendation with clear and well-supported rationale

· Candidates will be given 4 hours to complete a take-home case study and will need to produce a short presentation (in Powerpoint) and a supporting financial analysis (in Excel) for submission

o Candidates are to provide a time that is suitable and convenient for themselves in order to sufficiently work on the case

o Details will be coordinated if the candidate is shortlisted for this Case Study

· Candidates will then present their answer in a face-to-face interview (either virtual or physical depending on circumstances); including Q&A

Nature and aim of the position

To provide comprehensive Human Resources Advisory and Office Management support for all Japanese entities and business units with the aim of embedding HR strategy when providing professional HR guidance and support. To also provide support when requested to assist with the HR needs of other APAC offices.

Working closely with the senior HRBP-North Asia & Vice President, HR & Office Management Asia Pacific, to ensure a high quality of HR service is delivered to staff at all times.

Purpose of the role

Nature and aim of the position.

Global Blue (GB) a leading provider of multi-currency payment and hotel & retail gateway solutions is seeking a Sales & Relationships Manager to manage our current financial institution partners, increase the acceptance of Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) at our partner merchants and sell our multi-currency and gateway solutions to new financial institutions within Singapore. The role will also be responsible for business development activities in Indonesia, selling our hotel and retail gateway solution to merchants.

Context of the role

Reporting to the Regional Head of Commercial APAC, this is a Singapore based position to sell our multi-currency and gateway solution into new financial institutions and payment service providers as well as relationship manage and cross-sell our solutions into existing partners. A good understanding of the financial Institutions payment and retail ecosystem/payment value chain within Singapore is required.

The Sales & Relationship manager will hunt for new partners both cold as well as from existing opportunities. The person will need to be target driven and have a passion and ownership to deliver numbers. This will be a hands-on role with deep involvement in execution, leading from the front. As well as manage existing partners, so will need good relationship and interpersonal skills. Must be able to drive DCC and Hotel & Retail Gateway sales by working with acquiring sales teams and providing training and support to enable their teams to have strong GB product understanding and be comfortable in selling the solutions to merchants.

The role will also be responsible for business development activities in Indonesia, working with our Payment Service Provider Partner, Yokke to selling our hotel and retail gateway solution to merchants.

This is a commercial role and responsible for driving business growth and revenues.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and approach potential acquiring partners to align with Global Blue and promote the full range of solutions, including DCC, Multi-Currency Pricing (MCP) and the Hotel & Retail Gateway.
• Creating and executing the overall sales and business development plan for GB across the Financial Institution/Payment Service Provider market in Singapore.
• Develop and maintain yearly account plans with each of our acquiring partners, namely DBS and UOB.
• Implement strategies jointly with acquiring partners to retain merchants by embedding products and solutions that provide merchants with added value and strengthen acquiring relationships.
• Increase DCC opt-in levels by working with Merchants and Acquirers.
• Assist Acquirers to sell in DCC and other solutions by supporting sales pitches.
• Hands on management of day to day activities of existing partners in relation to the GB product suite they utilise, working closely with C suite management.

· Business development activities in Indonesia, working with our Payment Service Provider Partner, Yokke to selling our hotel and retail gateway solution to merchants.

• Ensuring excellent communication and internal coordination to roll-out new services, considering market specificity (regulation, competition etc.)
• Managing the new accounts to maximise revenue through cross and up selling opportunities and maximising customer satisfaction.
• Providing timely reports to the head of regional sales team regarding performance, sales activity, account management and strategy, as well as advise on local industry trends.
• Initiate and maintain a strong links between customers and back-office services to ease communication and facilitate the resolution of any issues.
• Effectively communicate the needs of your partners to the support team.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Strong academic background, such as a degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent.
• ~3-5+ years of B2B business development experience covering a multi-region remit within the payments industry.
• Has a strong existing network of PSP’s, Acquirers, Banks, Tier one Merchants and Marketplaces in the Singapore finance industry.
• DCC/MCP knowledge and understanding preferred.
• Extensive experiences of negotiations with C-level executives.
• Demonstrated success in initiating and growing sales in complex enterprise clients.
• Strong balance of both strategic planning and active hands-on approach is a must.
• Must possess a can-do, entrepreneurial drive, focusing on solving problems creatively with a high level of energy. This is critical both as a cultural fit and based on the nature of internal business growth plans.
