Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Management:

• Enhance GCMD's reputation through thought leadership content and key messaging
• Support in content creation, including social media posts and visuals
• Design, produce and publicise content such as reports, whitepapers, press releases, newsletters, interviews, Q&As, factsheets and annual reports showcasing the centre's work
• Support in preparing board presentations
• Maintain and update the centre's website as well as to track engagement activities on the website
• Ensure consistent use of the center's graphic identity
• Establish and maintain a photo and illustrations archive

Event Management and Public Relations:

• Organise and coordinate virtual, physical and hybrid events
• Maintain engagement with the centre’s communications counterparts and media offices
• Develop and maintain mailing list for email updates/ publicity outreach
• Help organise centre-led events
• Track centre's media coverage

Research and Communication Support:

• Support research on talking points for thought leadership pieces around maritime decarbonisation
• Support in media monitoring to keep the centre abreast of current maritime decarbonisation news

Other:

• Assist to track the utilisation of communications budget

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with preferably 5-10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations or journalism role
• Strong writing skills and a good communicator
• Firm grasp of digital media, with interest to proactively follow real-time developments in the maritime decarbonisation space
• Great attention to detail
• Knowledge and understanding of communications practices, tools, and techniques in social media
• Strong multi-tasker who possesses strong initiative
• Ability to work collaboratively with others and a desire to learn

Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD)

The Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) was established as a non-profit organisation on 1 August 2021 with a mission to support the decarbonisation of the maritime industry by shaping standards, deploying solutions, financing projects, and fostering collaboration across sectors.

Founded by six industry partners namely BHP, BW Group, Eastern Pacific Shipping, Foundation Det Norske Veritas, Ocean Network Express and Seatrium (formerly Sembcorp Marine), GCMD also receives funding from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) for qualifying research and development programmes and projects. To-date, over 100 centre- and project-level partners have joined GCMD – contributing funds, expertise, and in-kind support to accelerate the deployment of scalable low-carbon technologies and lowering adoption barriers.

GCMD is strategically located in Singapore, the world’s largest bunkering hub and second largest container port.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Partnerships is responsible for developing and executing partnership strategies to advance the mission of GCMD, foster collaboration, and enhance GCMD’s position within the industry. He/She will play a crucial role in identifying and cultivating strategic alliances with key stakeholders, including industry players, government agencies, and technology partners. The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and interfaces closely with the Research & Projects and Comms team.

Partnership strategy development

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of industry trends, key players, and emerging technologies.
• Formulate and execute a strategic partnership roadmap aligned with organisational goals
• Identify and evaluate potential partnership opportunities to support the decarbonisation mission of GCMD

Relationship management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential partners across the ecosystem, including shipowners, shipbuilders, charterers, technology providers, financial institutions, and government agencies
• Serve as the primary point of contact for key partners, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and collaboration
• Work closely with internal teams to align partnership activities with overall mission objectives
• Coordinate and maintain partnership database.
• Develop plans and processes to track, manage and engage partners. Initiate discussions with leadership team in a timely manner on partnership renewals.

Negotiation and contracting

• Lead negotiations for partnership agreements, ensuring favourable terms and mutually beneficial outcomes
• Draft, review, and finalise partnership contracts and agreements in consultation with the Corporate Services team
• Prepare information and papers to seek board approval for new partnerships

Market analysis and research

• Conduct market research to identify potential areas for collaboration and partnership
• Stay informed about industry developments, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes that may impact partnerships

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Maritime, Business, Marketing, or related field
• Proven experience in developing and managing partnerships in the maritime sector
• In-depth knowledge of the maritime industry, including key players, trends, and regulatory landscape.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically
• Track record of successfully driving business growth through strategic partnerships
• Passionate about sustainability and maritime decarbonisation
• Team player, highly motivated, ability to work independently and confidently under pressure

Responsibilities:

The Associate is a member of the Research & Projects team and will report to the Director of Research & Projects.

Strategic Planning and Execution Roles

• Support the Research & Projects team on the progress of assigned projects and programs

Operational Roles

• Project management

-Design detailed workplans and monitor progress against them

-Manage relationships with stakeholders

-Host periodic stakeholder meetings, take meeting minutes, and deliver internal updates

-Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget

-Coordinate staffing, resources, schedules, and timelines

-Oversee all documentation and record keeping

-Ensure proper adherence to the procurement policies and audit requirements

-Optimise and improve processes where necessary

• Facilitate the collation of project related data
• Generate final project report
• Evaluate received project related proposals

External Engagement Roles

• Engage with industry, institutes of higher learning and knowledge centres to keep abreast with developments
• Work closely with relevant government agencies to commence projects / pilots

Qualifications:

Associate

• Minimum degree from a recognised University in engineering or sciences
• Minimum 5 years working experience as a project manager with at least 3 years, any role, in the maritime or energy sector

Overall

• Knowledge and experience with project management of operational, construction or field work type of projects will be highly advantageous.
• Good understanding on maritime decarbonisation related issues.
• Strong command of the English language and writing skills
• Strong organizational skills and good attention to detail

The role will be focused on projects and initiatives to

accelerate adoption of energy efficiency measures for

shipping.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

• Minimum honours degree from a recognised

University in science, engineering, economics,

finance or maritime business.

• Minimum 3 to 5 years working experience with at

least 1 years in the maritime or energy sector

• Good understanding on maritime decarbonisation

related issues, co-authorship of reports and or

opinion pieces on maritime decarbonisation

solutions will be considered advantageous

• Strong command of the English language and

writing skills
