OVERVIEW OF JOB

This is a very high profile & senior position within GroupM, where you'll have responsibility for running a portfolio of high-profile multinational brands with services scope focused on innovation, communications planning and media campaign implementation management, by leveraging your insights, analytics and strategy skill set.

You will lead the client relationship while also being responsible for maintaining the quality of contracted services, lobbying additional assignments as well as developing appetite for and building revenues from out-of-scope offerings and value add services. As well as driving top-level client scores and advocacy across markets, you’ll be aligning market teams on the global tools suites, driving test/learn digital innovations and apply analytics in a consistent fashion to steer investment decisions.

As the Regional Client Leader on this major account, you will be tasked with meeting KPI’s, driving adaptive marketing initiatives, the allocation of resources, process and systems, across the portfolio.

Being the Client Leader on one of GroupM’s most interesting and change-ready accounts, you will be the trusted advisor not just to the client at an exciting time, but for internal (regional / global) touch-points on the local market. Good performance on this account will further strengthen GroupM’s overall global relationship with this client.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

3 months: To become completely familiar with the client’s organizational structure, planning process, marketing calendar and the needs of key stakeholders. To arrive at top of mind understanding of the business – it’s challenges, and KPIs.

6 months: Have built a complete understanding of the markets, and have guided representation on quarterly reviews and agreed priorities.

12 months: Full grasp of the business relationship, independent representation on quarterly reviews and delivery of KPIs.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

• Entrenching senior client relationships that position GroupM as a principle business partner of the client/s. Be unafraid to push back, be audacious and stand your ground in terms of ideas.
• Build client satisfaction by soliciting feedback and operating like a consultant
• Acts as a client visionary by bringing a highly valued perspective to the client based on a deep understanding of their business, issues and opportunities
• Overall strategic approach on the account/s designed and delivered to meet Client’s business objectives and strategies. Oversees the implementation of the annual planning in conjunction with the client team
• Generates and communicates a shared goal and unifies a team in the pursuit of a common objective.
• Drive VAS revenues, profitably
• Always operate with a talent and growth mindset

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Minimum 12-15 years’ work experience in business consultancy, market research/analytics or a strategic planning role, of which at least 2-4 years will have been spent in a regional role
• Individual should have a mix of local media + regional media management experience.
• Comfortable with or have had exposure to application of analytics and be demonstrate “no line thinking” i.e. strong track record on integrated work.
• Individual will need to build and nurture a close working relationship with local markets (internal & client).
• Strongly strategic approach – this is not an execution/operational role.

We are seeking an experienced Regional Media Lead to drive the success of a portfolio of high-profile multinational brands across APAC. In this role, you will be the strategic leader and trusted partner, overseeing all facets of regional media operations, client leadership, and performance across Communications Planning, Media Activation, Measurement, Platform Performance, Operations, and Analytics.

As the APAC Media Lead, you will provide strategic direction, foster strong client relationships, and inspire innovative thinking both internally and externally. You will act as the key liaison between the client and our teams, ensuring seamless connectivity across regional markets, delivering high-impact solutions, and driving the alignment of global workstreams and best practices.

You’ll be responsible for steering digital transformation and innovation initiatives, leveraging data and analytics to inform media investment decisions, and promoting adaptive marketing strategies that enhance client performance.

Additionally, you will oversee resource allocation, process optimisation, and tech maturity audits to ensure continuous improvement across the portfolio.

With frequent interaction with senior-level clients, you will represent GroupM as the face of our organisation, ensuring the highest levels of client satisfaction while identifying opportunities to grow revenue through value-added services. As the senior business partner, you’ll balance the needs of clients, markets, and internal teams, driving results that exceed expectations and deliver measurable success.

• Navigate complex organisational structures by building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
• Design and share the overall strategic approach for the account to meet client business objectives and strategies while overseeing the implementation of annual planning in collaboration with the client team.
• Cultivates trust and operates with a high degree of ownership and accountability to earn the trust of clients and colleagues alike.
• Collaborate across all local markets, ensuring quality product and service delivery to create award-winning, business-changing media work.
• Increase organic revenue growth by identifying services that can unlock client business growth.
• Ensure that all client-facing materials are of the highest quality, strategically aligned, and reflective of GroupM’s capabilities.
• Champion consumer-centric thinking in all strategic media initiatives, providing thoughtful POVs on emerging trends in the media landscape.
