Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the suitability of new materials for product development in alignment with customer requirements.
- Ensure all incoming materials meet defined quality parameters.
- Preparing chemical formulations of new products.
- Conduct trial blends, assess results, and optimize formulations.
- Develop and evaluate product formulations based on test results and customer specifications.
- Ensure finished product test results comply with customer requirements.
- Maintain and develop quality assurance/control procedures to ensure product consistency and compliance.
- Oversee test method development, transfer, and validation to ensure reliable and accurate product testing.
- Provide technical support to the sales team, assisting with product knowledge and customer inquiries.
- Supervise and manage the issuance of job orders for production, ensuring product specifications are met.
- Supervise lab staff, ensuring productivity and adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct training on product knowledge, lab practices, and quality procedures to enhance team skills.
- Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, ensuring efficient and accurate operations.
- Manage laboratory resources, including budgeting and resource allocation, to ensure operational efficiency.
- Enforce a strong safety culture in the laboratory, ensuring strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, protocols, and procedures.
Key Skills and Personsl Attributes
- Professional experience 11+ years, with relevant functional experience.
- Read, write and speaking ability of English and Mandarin is a must.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration and customer support.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/14001/ HSE regulations and safety protocols.
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in a laboratory environment with a focus on product development and quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of chemical formulations, testing methodologies, and quality control standards.
