Job Responsibilities:
Hartree Risk Management is the group that measures and monitors the trading, hedging, and marketing activities while providing transparency to Senior Management of the underlying risks on a consistent basis across the company. We are seeking a dynamic individual to take responsibility for the risk control and risk assessment. The Market Risk Analyst is a key resource for Risk Management. This role is also responsible for providing support in risk coverage areas to other members of the team.
- Oversight of daily risk measurement reports. This includes maintaining quality control and implementing enhancements.
- Analysis of market conditions, positions, Value-at-Risk (VaR), Profit and Loss (P&L), Independent Price Review (IPV) process of flat price and non-linear positions.
- Assist in development of new risk oversight tools/reports/projects.
- Active participation in discussions/interactions with the team members and traders. This may include topics such as reviewing trading strategies or embedded optionality of non-standard transactions.
Job Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience in a trading, risk, product control, and/or operations role.
- Strong communication skills. Must be able to clearly communicate with traders and team members.
- Ability to work independently and industriously.
- Strong understanding of various ETRMS and processes conducted by Credit and Compliance and Finance.
- Subject matter expertise in one or few of the commodity groups, like oil, power, freight, emission, etc.
- Understand the advantages and disadvantage of different risk measures (e.g., Value-at-Risk, stress testing).
- Proficiency with options and related greeks.
- Programming skills like Python, database skills (SQL), technical skills like Tableau and MATLAB.
