RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in monitoring and controlling of HMIIHS’ financial processes and performance
- Provide advice on all financial-related issues and propose solutions and/or interventions for the identified problem/performance gaps
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company/group accounting policies & procedures
- Ensure accuracy and timely delivery for month-end / year-end closing, preparation, and submission of monthly management accounts and group reporting package as per reporting timelines
- Preparation of monthly rolling forecast reports and working with the management team in setting up reports that support strategic/operational decision-making
- Participate in annual workplan, coordinate annual budgeting activities and forecasting exercises, preparation of budget paper as per timeline
- Provide advice in financial requirements in preparation for new business proposal, costing, CAPEX preparation and capability development etc.
- Board meetings coordination and preparation of Board meeting materials
- Develop a deep understanding of business models and operations, design and apply appropriate accounting treatment in line with accounting standards and company/group accounting policies.
- Work closely with management team / other departments to have a better understanding of HMIIHS operations, provide guidance, and educate management team / other departments in financial competency for operational efficiency and effective internal control
- Liaise with external auditors, oversee & facilitate audit process for annual financial audit and ad-hoc grant audits, including preparation of financial statements
- Liaise with tax agents and handle tax submissions
- Liaise with external corporate secretarial for corporate secretarial matters and ensure compliance with the Companies Act and relevant statutory requirements.
- Handle ad-hoc projects such as the implementation of new systems and roll out of new policies and procedures initiated from HMI Group
- Manage, review, and guide the Executive of Accounts & Admin at HMIHS in her scope of work which includes but is not limited to:
- AR / AP / GL transaction postings
- Cash/bank accounts management and bank reconciliation
- Maintenance of fixed asset register
- Preparation of quarterly GST submission
- Maintenance of balance sheet schedules
- Monthly/quarterly intercompany reconciliations
- Submission of advancement and placement grant applications from government agencies and processing subsequent disbursement requirements
- Process claims for students on Workfare Training Support ("WTS") / SkillsFuture credit
- Support Accountant on initiatives to improve and streamline finance work flow
- Any other duties assigned

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in keeping full set of accounts
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or CA / CPA equivalent qualification
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel / Word / PowerPoint
- Proficient in relevant Financial Reporting Standards
- Self-driven, resourceful, and organized
- Good time management skills
- Ability to work well in a team and independently with minimal supervision, as required
- Ability to learn and adapt to changes
