About this role:
This is a newly created role within our Novela Category Management team to help drive the continued growth of our business.
As a Category Buyer for Beauty Products, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing the procurement strategy for our organization's beauty product category. As a trend setting in the industry and pioneer beauty experience for consumers in Singapore, you will be responsible for staying ahead of beauty trends, applying your instincts to bring in exciting assortment through your supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, analyzing market trends, and ensuring the availability of high-quality beauty products at competitive prices. Your efforts will contribute to driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction within the beauty product category.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the procurement strategy for the beauty product category, aligning it with the overall business objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers/vendors of beauty products, ensuring they meet quality standards, pricing requirements, and delivery timelines.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing, payment terms, and contractual conditions.
- Manage supplier relationships, conduct regular performance reviews, and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Monitor market trends, including pricing, product innovations, and consumer demands, to stay informed about industry developments and make informed buying decisions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as marketing, sales, and operations teams, to understand their requirements and ensure the availability of a diverse and appealing assortment of beauty products.
- Conduct regular analysis of category performance, including sales data, product performance, and customer feedback, to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and campaigns to drive sales and enhance the visibility of beauty products.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements related to beauty products, ensuring all purchased items meet legal and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier contracts, and pricing information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a buyer or category manager in the beauty industry, preferably within a retail or e-commerce environment.
- In-depth knowledge of beauty product trends, market dynamics, and industry best practices.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a track record of achieving cost savings and favorable terms.
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret market data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards for beauty products.
- A passion for the beauty industry and staying up to date with the latest trends and innovations.
