We are seeking a Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Program Associate Director who will lead the strategic development, implementation, and optimization of MES solutions across our manufacturing operations in the HOYA LSI Division. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, MES technologies, and program management to drive efficiency, quality, and operational excellence.
Essential Responsibilities
Program Leadership:
- Develop and oversee the MES program strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Lead cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, operations, and quality, to ensure successful MES implementation and integration.
- Act as the primary point of contact for MES initiatives, addressing stakeholder concerns and managing expectations.
Technology Implementation:
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with MES vendors and solution providers.
- Oversee the deployment of MES solutions, including software configuration, hardware integration, and system validation.
- Ensure seamless integration of MES with enterprise systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA).
Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements through MES capabilities, including real-time monitoring, data analytics, and workflow automation.
- Standardize MES processes and workflows across manufacturing sites to ensure consistency and scalability.
Change Management:
- Drive change management efforts, including communication, training, and support for MES users.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within manufacturing teams.
Performance Monitoring:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of MES initiatives.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on program status, milestones, and outcomes.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure MES solutions comply with industry regulations and company standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with MES implementation and operation.
Skills and Competencies Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced qualifications such as a Master’s degree or MBA are preferred.
- More than 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years dedicated to managing MES (Manufacturing Execution System) programs.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale MES implementation projects effectively.
- Hands-on experience in regulated industries such as semiconductors, discrete manufacturing, or automotive.
- Familiarity with MES platforms, including Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Critical Manufacturing, or similar systems.
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes such as production planning, quality management, and supply chain operations.
- Proficient in advanced technical tools and methodologies, including Six Sigma, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming.
- Proficient in project management methodologies, such as Agile and Waterfall.
- Certifications in MES-related systems or project management, including PMP or Six Sigma, are highly desirable.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record of managing teams and driving collaboration.
- Expertise in Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning applications.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
