We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Scientist to join our analytics team, focusing on policy services and payments within the insurance sector. As a Data Scientist, you will analyze complex data sets related to policy administration, customer interactions, and payment transactions to provide actionable insights that drive our business strategies and decision-making processes.
This role will require you to demonstrate your strong analytical skills & ability to story tell key messages back to the business.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze large and complex data sets related to policy administration, payment transactions, customer demographics, policy renewals, and service interactions.
- Develop and implement predictive models and algorithms to improve policy retention, customer satisfaction, payment processing efficiency, and fraud detection.
- Collaborate with policy services, payments, underwriting, IT, and customer service teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Perform data preprocessing, cleansing, and validation to ensure data quality and accuracy.
- Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Use statistical techniques to interpret data and make recommendations for process improvements and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor policy service and payment system performance and identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in data science, analytics, policy services, and payment technologies.
- Document and present analytical methodologies and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 4+ years’ experience as a Data Analyst or similar role is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in the insurance industry or with policy services and payment systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
- Experience with ETL tools, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau or PowerBI) and statistical analysis (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression, predictive analytics) is a must.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques and algorithms.
- Familiarity with insurance data, policy administration systems, and payment processing is a plus.
- Ability to draw insights from data to provide practical solutions.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and succinct manner to various stakeholders.
- Being able to work independently once the tasks are defined.
- Being pro-active in identifying ways of improving how we operate as a team.
- Willing to explore data science projects and learn new technologies
