Job Description
- As a Ship Broker, you will act as a professional intermediary facilitating negotiaions between shipowners and charterers to arrange the transport of liquid bulk commodities by sea on board tanker vessels.
- Provide insights, professional advice and market intelligence to and negotiate charter parties & contracts with ship owners and charterers.
- Work closely with the team to maintain and develop productive business relationships and engage with existing and potential customers
- Expand and develop contacts with ship owners and charterers in the region as well as globally.
- Closely monitor market developments and acquire market intelligence, data and information
- Book and secure cargoes on both prompt and forward basis in line with the company’s strategy.
- Manage post-fixture voyage matters and liaise with operations staff
- Display and develop astute commercial acumen, support growth strategies and execute decisions with utmost professionalism.
- Monitor vessels’ status and movement on a daily basis.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years prior work experience in ship broking, chartering or commercial operations
- Thorough chartering knowledge, with a sound understanding of c/p terms and trade requirements.
- Global markets understanding with the ability to follow and understand shipping market developments.
- Motivated by a hectic environment where priorities constantly change and innovation is daily business.
- Able and willing to work after office hours and irregular hours as necessary.
- Fluent in English & Korean both verbally and in writing since English is our corporate language.
- Able to work well under pressure and think on your feet.
- Be a team player always willing to work in the best interests of the team and company.
