Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue import and export business opportunities and strategic partnerships for organisation’s new China subsidiary
- Undertake research and provide in-depth market intelligence of targeted projects and potential leads
- Assist in conducting market analysis, evaluating project feasibility, and assessing risks and returns
- Build positive relationships with prospective partners, distributors and suppliers to develop new opportunities and advance organisation’s business interests
- Initiate meetings, prepare presentations, develop business proposals, and handle project registrations or tenders
- Monitor leads and project status and provide regular progress reports and updates
- Liaise and follow up with Chinese government offices, state-owned enterprises, and local service providers or contractors on various regulatory or project related applications, registrations, filings and documentations
- Collaborate closely with internal teams in the scope of administrative and secretarial documentation, financial and activity reporting, statutory and tax filing, internal and external audit, regulatory compliance, etc
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field
- Familiar with China culture and business practices
- Resourceful and possess good market intelligence
- Entrepreneurial experience or business network is a plus
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Proficiency, both written and spoken, in English and Mandarin
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively across teams
- Willingness to travel as required
