Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of accounting experience and be highly proficient in closing accounts, financial reporting, and managing fixed assets. Familiarity with MYOB software is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including the closing of monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounts.
- Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other reports.
- Maintain and manage fixed assets register, ensuring proper capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
- Ensure timely submission of financial reports to management and relevant authorities.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of journal entries and other accounting documents.
- Assist in audits by preparing required documentation and liaising with auditors.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
- Provide support in budgeting and forecasting activities.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge and experience in MYOB accounting software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in handling audits and compliance matters.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
