Job Description:
- Assist in preparing ingredients and dough for baked goods such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies.
- Operate and maintain baking equipment (e.g., ovens, mixers, proofers) safely and efficiently.
- Follow recipes and instructions the head baker provides to ensure consistency and quality.
- Monitor baking processes to ensure products are baked to the required standard.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure freshness and taste.
- Decorate and present finished products attractively.
- Assist in the organization and management of inventory, including ingredients and packaging materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and baking areas after use.
- Assist in packaging and labeling baked goods for sale.
Job Requirement:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is often sufficient. Vocational training or coursework in baking can be advantageous.
- While some bakeries prefer candidates with prior experience, many are willing to train individuals who demonstrate a passion for baking and a willingness to learn.
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques, attention to detail, ability to follow recipes accurately, strong organizational and time management skills, and excellent customer service abilities are essential.
- The role often requires standing for extended periods and the ability to lift heavy items, at least 4 to 5 hours at day.
