JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Group CEO, the chosen candidate will be fully accountable for the performance of the operation and sales function, whilst ensuring customer requirements are consistently met. The Singapore General Manager will oversee all the activities of the Singapore office relating to its profitable operations and growth, driving implementation of commercial.
The candidate we are looking for is a highly motivated, ambitious, and tenacious individual with a strong personality to further develop our business. The candidate must be a determine and results-orientated individual who can also provide sales, commercial and strategic skills to ensure that P&L targets for the Singapore Office are achieved and exceeded.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Business Development to achieve Revenue & Profitability Goals. Participate and develop the budget/forecast of the Singapore office
- Strategise to deliver the optimal profitability and utilization of freight space. Establish long term operations direction/objectives and specific strategies and action to achieve them. Setting business and financial goals, devise and implement all marketing and operating plans to drive the performance of the company on profits, market share, product range and service quality.
- Develop business activities, build and maintain excellent client relationship with clients / agents, etc.
- Develop all or any associated services that will maximize value creation, accelerate growth and achieve operational profit and excellence across all functions.
- Effective Operations Management to ensure committed service levels are met consistently.
- Ensure conformity of processes and documentation to company and industry standards.
- Review and enhance processes to achieve business objectives and operational effectively on a continual basis including periodical review of the operations for business process re-engineering.
- Retention of Customers through effective Client servicing & Relationship Management.
- Develop business infrastructure & expansion.
- Competitors monitoring & analysis.
- Team development (Selection, Appointment, Training, KPI allocation, Review mechanism, Retention etc).
- Implementation of effective management policies.
- Build and maintain critical business partnerships both externally and internally with key stakeholders and outsourced service partners.
- Identify new business and growth opportunities to help grow and expand current company operations.
- Manage outsourced partners to ensure services and performance is up to expectation.
REQUIREMENTS
- P&L and operations responsibility.
- Has good business/financial acumen with strong strategic abilities, leadership and communication skills.
- Proven track record in providing innovative solutions to clients under your management.
- Have proven leadership skills along with a fine-tuned ability to manage and motivate staff.
- Proven ability and track record of leading and motivating a team.
- Proven negotiation and influencing skills.
- Proficient in process mapping and process/procedure management and suggesting improvements.
- Wide contacts with Shipping Lines/Carriers/Industry Players.
- Fluent Korean (orally and in writing)
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- About 10 years’ experience Freight Forwarding industry
- 5 years are in senior position.
- Effective communication skills
- Possess good business/ financial acumen
