About the role:
The Chemist assists the Quality Control Manager in the management of projects and daily operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage and maintain equipment operation, calibration, preventive maintenance.
- Liaise with vendors for troubleshooting and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Prioritize and allocate laboratory (project) operations and workflow so that the laboratory’s equipment and resources are used efficiently, and work schedules and targets are met.
- Research, evaluate and recommend investments in technology, equipment, systems, or other assets that will enhance the laboratory’s performance.
- Ensure that effective change management is applied during trials and implementation of alternative processes, methods and establishment of new equipment.
- Evaluate, conduct investigation and correct deviation of QC process, equipment performance and analytical cross-check.
- Method development, review and amendment of SOP.
- Introduction, testing, documentation of procedure, training to QC members.
- Leaderships for Ad Hoc Projects (collaboration with other department) and new grades product.
- Abide to all quality, environmental compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Plan, coordinated and support Lab Supervisor, Day Lab Assistant & Shift Lab Technicians in analytical, safety, and equipment activities.
- Promote and participate in safety, improvement & cost-reduction activities amongst laboratory members.
- Task as assigned by QC Manager.
About you:
- A bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant working experience.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced Chemical Manufacturing QC environment.
- Independent and able to collaborate with different functions.
