Job description
- Work with team to develop investment strategies and asset allocation recommendations.
- Perform top-down sector analysis to understand industry specific drivers, assess competitive landscape, evaluate opportunities and risks.
- Perform bottom-up selection through detailed analysis of investment opportunities in public equities, special situations, start-ups, and fund managers.
- Develop/maintain financial models to derive valuation and ascertain drivers of returns
- Prepare succinct investment memos and presentations to internal stakeholders.
- Drive transaction execution, including negotiating and reviewing of legal documents alongside legal team
- Potentially assist in wider group initiatives, such as divestures and/or investments from an operating/strategic perspective
- Stay abreast of portfolio company specific developments, market trends, and regulatory changes that may affect investment portfolio.
- Assist with ongoing internal portfolio reporting needs.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. Candidates with relevant experience will be given consideration regardless of field of study.
- 5-8 years of experience in areas demonstrating research (ie., equity research) or transactional/advisory experience (ie., PE/VC, investment banking, consulting, business development)
- Analytical mind and willingness to multi-task
- Detail-oriented with a passion for learning
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in corporate finance concepts
- Familiarity in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
