Transportation of Raw Materials: Transporting raw materials such as wire, cables, connectors, and other components from suppliers to the manufacturing facility. This involves safely loading and unloading materials onto the truck.
Delivery of Finished Products: Delivering finished wire and cable assemblies, harnesses, or other products to customers or distribution centers. Ensuring that deliveries are made on time and in accordance with customer specifications.
Route Planning: Planning efficient routes for pickups and deliveries to minimize fuel consumption, reduce transportation costs, and optimize delivery schedules.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting routine maintenance checks on the truck to ensure it is in good working condition. This includes checking fluid levels, inspecting tires, brakes, lights, and performing any necessary repairs or adjustments.
Compliance with Regulations: Adhering to all applicable transportation regulations and safety standards, including those related to vehicle weight limits, driver hours of service, and hazardous materials transportation.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, including signed delivery receipts, invoices, and other required documentation. Ensuring that all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers, addressing any concerns or questions they may have, and ensuring that deliveries are made to the correct location and in good condition.
Communication: Communicating effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and other team members to coordinate pickup and delivery schedules, provide updates on delivery status, and report any issues or delays.
Safety: Prioritizing safety at all times by adhering to safe driving practices, obeying traffic laws, and following company safety protocols. This includes securing loads properly, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, and reporting any safety hazards or incidents.
Requirements:
Valid Class 3 driving licence with clean driving record.
Previous truck driving experience preferred.
Knowledge of transportation regulations and route planning skills.
Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
