Job Description

The below to be conducted under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, Geneal Manager, Team Leader - Operations and relevant Trader(s), with specific work scope to include but not be limited to;

• Cargo operations including Quantity & Quality control, vessel operations, vessel vetting, instructions on loading/discharging/ inspections, demurrage management, cargo insurance matters, letter of credit checking and related troubleshooting.
• Blending operations, blending component evaluations, instructions on blending/inspections, inventory management & projection, knowledge in cargo sampling & testing, related documentations and related troubleshooting.
• Record/update the database related with the above transactions; and
• Other ad hoc assignments as necessary.

Job Requirement

• Candidates should possess at least 3 years of working experience in oil/gas trading companies directly relevant to (and in) the conducting of cargo and vessel operations/coordination type of works;
• Knowledge in Maritime law;
• Standard skills in Word (and, preferably, PowerPoint);
• Excellent skills in Excel is preferred (Blender role);
• Ability to work independently & professionally, as well as being a good team player with good communication skills;
• Hard working, meticulous and has a strong flair for numbers.

Job Description

Job responsibilities:

• To provide necessary support to the Front Office trading team as well as other relevant departments in the Company, and correspond with external counterparties as and when necessary, to prepare, negotiate and finalize physical oil trading contracts for (and on behalf of) the Company; the aforesaid and below to be conducted under the supervision of the Contracts Team Leader (the “Contracts TL”) and relevant trader(s), with specific work scope to include but not be limited to:

- Following the Company’s Front Office Trader’s deal recapitulation, to prepare and send the contract draft to the counterparty,

- To check the counter proposal from the counterparty in accordance with the Company’s internal procedure(s),

- To finalize the contract with the counterparty after obtaining the Company’s required internal authorization,

- To conduct all related and relevant contract documentation process in relation to the trading deals concluded, and

- To consult with the Company’s Front Office Trader, other relevant internal staff/departments, and the Contracts TL as and when necessary, during the above-described process and in the course of your duties in the Company.

• To maintain/file all documents, agreements and records related to the above activities;
• To record/update the database for the above transactions; and
• Any other general contractual support or ad hoc assignments as may be requested/required by the Company and/or the Contracts TL from time to time, including but not limited to the review of long-term agreements such as master agreements, offtake agreements and storage agreements.

Requirements

• Candidates with at least 2-3 years of relevant working experience in oil/gas trading companies, especially if such experience is directly relevant to (and in) the conducting of physical contract administration/negotiation type of work.
• Good English written and verbal skills.
• Standard skills in Word and Excel.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Responsible to the direct Team Lead [TL] (or General Manager) for achieving the target profit of the respective book business plan through, including but not limited to;

⁃ Strategizing profit model of global trading for both physical and derivatives in addition to the Japanese and Korean market and conducting it with adequate speculation and risk management (market price and credit).

⁃ Creating global trading flows and conducting necessary marketing activities i.e. transport /delivery / operations with international clients as well as Japanese and Korean clients (such as refineries / utility companies / trading companies or importing companies etc.) in order to fulfill the respective book strategy.

⁃ Exploring business opportunities for petroleum products trading business, and/or bio fuels, biomass energy, and next-gen fuel / commodities to develop new scheme of energy commodity trading in response to the energy transition requirements in global energy trading.

• Acts as a resource to other TL/Senior Strategist in the area of your expertise with good network with international clients or ship owners as well as Japanese and Korean;

• Work closely with Operations team for vessel operations, vessel vetting, instructions on loading/discharging/ inspections, demurrage management, cargo insurance matters, letter of credit and related troubleshooting;

· Prepare and assist with legal correspondences for executing contract and other legal documentations in case of arbitration;

· Support in handling insurance claims including liaising with internal and external parties (Insurers, Insurance Brokers, Ship owners, Agents, Surveyors etc.);

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Good degree from a recognized University.

· Possess at least 3 years of relevant working experience in international trading of energy commodities. Business experience with regard to conventional commodities such as coal and petroleum, as well as to bio fuels, biomass energy and/or next-gen fuels, are both appreciated if any.

· High level awareness of compliance and internal control.

· Basic risk analysis & management, hedging, economic evaluation, financial, credit and accounting knowledge of energy trading business.

· Good logistics/operational knowledge of petroleum trading business, including maritime insurance claim experience/procedure.

· Good and proficient knowledge of sustainability certification systems for biofuels and/or biomass-derived energy.

· Good legalknowledge in Contract/Maritime law especially in energy trading business.

· Excellent English and Japanese or Korean language skills, with the ability to logically comprehend a written document, and ability to write formal business correspondences for communication with clients (Japanese/International/local) and other Mitsui Group offices (i.e. Tokyo and other offices in the network).

· Responsible to report to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Risk Management Dept. and Finance Dept. related tasks, including but not limited to:

⁃ Reporting of daily trading positions (net earning and mark-to-market, credit exposure, breakdown of each portfolio book, risk volume calculation [VaR and liquidation cost], and other trading risk related items);

⁃ Credit line analysis, counterparty assessment, and credit risk position monitoring;

⁃ Risk management of trading activities such as market risk assessment, credit risk control, fair valuation of trading positions, and other risks involved in the business.

⁃ Cash flow management and analysis, and bank compliance related management.

⁃ System related matters (contribute to the management of ETRM [Energy Trading Risk Management] system and other digitalization projects of the company process);

⁃ Compliance related matters (J-SOX, Internal Audit, and etc.);

⁃ HR related matters of the department and support growth of the department members.

• Support CFO and have close communication with all Chief Officers and solve management level issues from Risk Management and Finance point of view;

· Support business department activity from accounting and tax point of view and maintain good relationship with them to get information;

· Build and maintain good relationship with Head Quarter in Japan, Regional Head Office in Singapore, and other external counterparties such as banks, and so forth.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Support Trading Department (Front Office) in handling internal applications, paperwork, and processes related to the administration of our customers’ or counterparties’ credit lines. This includes, but not limited to:

- Conducting background checks on the counterpart companies (collect and check parent company information);

- Inputting data into the credit system and ensuring follow-up (create credit lines for new customers; process renewal for 500-600 existing customers per year, familiar with commodity type and credit line amount in various currencies); use of specialize systems such as uCas, SAP for data input;

- Perform analysis and interpretations of customers’ data and information (collect / analyze customers’ financial data/annual reports and shareholder structures for listed companies using complex spreadsheets).

- Interacting and communicating with Traders and back-office staff internally, as well as with different business units in HQ; attend weekly meeting to keep up with the market and trading environment;

- Engaging in interactions and communications with the counterpart companies for Know Your Customer (KYC) purposes;

Additionally, support the Chief Operating Officer for office administration work related to the Front Office.
