SCM Buyer (WDA) 2 Year contract

This is a Career Conversion Programme (CCP for Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Manufacturing Professionals (Place-and-Train) under Workforce Singapore (WSG) and candidates must meet the following criteria and are open to the following conditions:
- PMETs/Mid-Careerist with no prior work experience in Biopharma industry are welcome to apply
- Singaporeans/PRs only
- Open to 2 year contract
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The Buyer is responsible for material requirements planning & order execution. The focus activities include:
- Purchase goods and services for the site, including: packing materials, raw materials, intermediates, and solvents
- Coordinate with vendors and freight forwarders with shipping documentation and delivery of purchased material, support the D&L Warehouse Team as and when required
- Monitor performance of supply chain and Purchasing metrics, investigates variance from targets and implement action items to improve performance
- Continuously improve knowledge of sourcing management, procurement process, categories, business practices, issues and opportunities in order to provide superior support to stakeholders
- Responsible for Master data management and accuracy of material master for purchased items
- Attending and successfully completing applicable GMP training, including training in local operating procedures.
- Other activities/projects as deemed appropriate
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or relevant studies
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Procurement/Buying, Production Planning/Scheduling
- Chemicals or FMCG industry experience
- Proficient in SAP & strong Excel skills required
- Knowledge of Quality systems, cGMP, and regulatory inspections
- Yellow Belt, Green Belt or Black Belt certified Lean Six Sigma
