We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised HR Specialist with a key focus on payroll to manage the full cycle of payroll activities. Reporting to the Head of HR and managing payroll for Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia, the ideal candidate is someone with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work with other independently.

Your Job

• Independently manage the employee life cycle activities related to payroll and tax, which include both onboarding and offboarding events, using in-house payroll system for Singapore, and managing 3rd party vendor for Thailand and Indonesia Rep offices.
• Work with Global Mobility team and Global Tax Consultant for mobility administration, including complex tax matters.
• Ensure payroll processes comply with all applicable laws and internal policies, and administer government related claims accordingly.
• Administer employee benefits related to payroll (e.g., leave administration, health insurance, retirement plans), ensuring proper deductions and updates.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, tax withholdings, and other payroll-related matters.
• Be the local HR Representative in internal and external audits to ensure accuracy and compliance of payroll systems and HR policies, and support compliance and risk management topics like HR data retention.
• Collaborate closely with Regional HR Service Hub on operational topics and participate in regional HR projects.
• Work with other departments like finance and global reporting team for several relevant reporting, intercompany cost charging and cost allocation topics.
• Other HR operational responsibilities when required

Your Profile

• Qualified tertiary education in HR, accounting, finance, or related field.
• At least 3 years of end to end payroll processing experience, with experience handling employee mobility cases and complex tax returns in a global environment
• Proactive, detail-oriented and independent
• Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and a data-driven mindset
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organisational and multi-tasking skill

You will be based in Singapore, with an oversight of the Southeast Asian markets. You will report to the Regional Head of Group Life and will be exposed to a multitude of responsibilities ranging from group pricing, case underwriting, inforce management, business development, projects and client management. This is also a client-facing role where you will communicate and work with internal and external clients.

Your role

• Responsible for ongoing group quotation activities and coordination, technical pricing and case underwriting for facultative group employee benefits schemes, group affinity schemes and group credit life schemes.
• Responsible for ongoing inforce management with the main focus on premium and claims reconciliation and validation.
• Responsible for ongoing group reinsurance treaty/account management, reporting and experience monitoring.
• Support the Regional Head of Group Life in multiple business development activities and planning.
• Manage assigned group accounts; establish new and foster existing business relationships; organise activities according to our client service plans and client prioritisation.

Your profile

• Actuarial degree is necessary with good progress in actuarial exams.
• 3 to 5 years of experience within the insurance and / or reinsurance industry is essential.
• Good understanding and extensive experience of the group life insurance business, benefits and practices in SEA markets.
• Previous working experience in actuarial reporting/valuation, experience study, reinsurance accounting or inforce management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skill, investigative mindset and ability to analyse large amount of data
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI; familiarity with other data analytics tools and software will be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent social skills and intercultural competence.
• Excellent time management skill, able to work independently and efficiently under time pressure, organised and self-driven.
• Fluency in both oral and written English. Proficiency in Chinese Mandarin, Bahasa and/or other Southeast Asian languages.
