Responsibilities
- Manage a data services portfolio and associated projects by aligning to the IT strategy
- Identify opportunities for optimization, redesign, or process improvement of data services
- Monitor system health and performance based on key metrics to detect potential issues that may affect the user experience of data services
- Work with vendors and teammates to provide administrative/operational support across data services as needed
- Partner with stakeholders, vendors, and IT management to align to the IT strategy for new and existing data services to create system roadmaps and business processes related to data services
- Analyze and compile the various needs, concerns, and expectations of stakeholder groups in planning for enhancement and operations of new and existing data services
- Contribute to a strong technical culture among the IT team and vendors that emphasizes technical excellence, continual stakeholder engagement, agility, strong security, and frictionless user experiences
- Manage maintenance outsourcing and contract agreements; Implement and monitor standards around scope management, financial management, and service level agreements (SLA), ensure compliance to mitigate risk, increase service/business Impact and reduce costs
- Provide regular actionable updates on ongoing projects and operational matters/issues related to data services
- Assist in drafting and reviewing relevant policies and procedures, and documentation for effective management of new and supported data services
- Implementing and monitoring for compliance with relevant policies and procedures
- Assist in the budgeting for projects and operations related to data services
- Assist in the preparations of data services for IT audits and any other tasks that may be assigned by the reporting officer
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar with related industry experience
- 5 years of working experience with a minimum 2 years in either data analytics, data engineering, or database administration/design
- Working knowledge of database technologies (e.g. MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and agile project methodology
- Proven collaboration and communication skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure, independently and in teams
- Working knowledge or certification in visualization tools (e.g. Qlik, PowerBI) and data pipeline tools (eg Denodo, Snowflake) will be an advantage
