RSIS is seeking suitable candidates for the position of Research Analyst/Senior Analyst/Associate Research Fellow with the Military Transformations Programme. The successful applicant should have a research focus on key issues, trends, and developments in military-tech governance and responsible innovation of emerging technologies in defence. Research problems in this area may include mapping norm development trajectories, mechanisms, and dialogues on responsible innovation in defence, including in areas such as artificial intelligence, autonomous weapons systems, and contested domains such as space, underwater, and cyber. Moreover, projecting how select countries, militaries, tech-companies, and international organisations are implementing and operationalizing responsible defence innovation and why.

The successful applicant is also expected to contribute to the School’s multidisciplinary research agenda, contribute to team research and policy-oriented projects, and organise conferences and seminars. Research Analyst / Senior Analyst (Malaysia Programme)

The S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), a Graduate School of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), is a leading research and teaching institution in strategic and international affairs and policy think tank in the Asia-Pacific region.

RSIS is seeking applicants for the position of Research Analyst/ Senior Analyst for Malaysia Programme. Applicants should have a deep interest and some experience in researching on Malaysia's foreign, defence and security policies. They should be able to write in concise and grammatical English, and instinctively take an open and analytical approach to public policy and politics. Equally, they should be conscientious and effective managers of time and budget. They should be self-motivated and happy to work independently on their own but also harmoniously in a team as needed.

The successful applicant will assist in managing research projects and undertake research and reporting on current developments in Malaysia. Administrative duties will include working with research partners and administrative colleagues, organising events, and managing the programme's budget.

Applicants should possess a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in history, international relations or related disciplines, with proficiency in the Malay Language (written and spoken). Applicants should also possess good writing and research skills with an aptitude and interest for in-depth research a relevant field.

RSIS invites applications for the position of Research Analyst / Senior Analyst / Associate Research Fellow in RSIS under the Social Cohesion Research team. The successful applicant is expected to support the Team, where he/she is to perform research, and work with the team on assigned projects. He/she will be required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and various government authorities. He/she will be required to carry out administrative work, and support the office on organising seminars, workshops and the International Conference on Cohesive Societies (ICCS).

The successful candidate should:

• Possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences with a robust foundation in statistics, econometrics, or analytics;
• Preferably have at least 2 years of relevant experience in basic research and project management;;
• Have an interest on Singapore and the region, including but not limited to issues related to race and religion, inequality, social diversity, and geopolitical dynamics;

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is looking for a Research Associate in the area of 3D intelligent perception system development. The successful candidate will work with Prof. Danwei Wang and a group of Research Fellows, Research Associates and PhD/Masters/Bachelors students in school of EEE at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and design 3D intelligent perception algorithms for digital twin-based tele operation system and autonomous system in various environments.
• Develop and implement 3D obstacle detection algorithm based on prebuilt HD map.
• Test and integrate existing sensor suite product.
• Integrate perception modules into teleoperation systems and autonomous systems.
• Explore the robustness of perception modules in complex scenarios.

Job Requirements:

• Masters degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
• Experience in Autoware
• Programming skills in C++, Python, ROS
• Familiar with implementing deep learning algorithms such as 3D object detection.
• Experience with using OpenCV / PCL / Open3D / PyTorch
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Project experience which involves object detection, point cloud clustering.
