Ageing is the key risk factor for heart disease in our older population. The study of ageing in heart disease encompasses the whole spectrum across research to clinical domains. The team at National Heart Centre Singapore and National Heart Research Institute Singapore strives to align research activities according to goals of Singapore’s biomedical and healthcare initiatives. This will include preventive and clinical translational strategies with direct impact on population and clinical patients.

We are seeking motivated individual to support our team’s work in heart ageing. The candidate’s involvement will include organising and conducting research studies under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or designate. Scholarly work such as writing and reviewing research papers and presentation of research outcomes are expected. Opportunities to conceptualise independent research projects for career growth will be encouraged. Team-players are preferred as there will be opportunities to guide and mentor students and research assistants.

The National Heart Research Institute Singapore, based at the National Heart Centre Singapore, is currently offering a job opportunity to work with our Clinician Scientist in the area of cardiac imaging. The applicant needs to have experience in computer programming and be comfortable working with large imaging datasets coupled with multi-omics. There will also be opportunities to work with magnetic resonance physicist in sequence programming.

Requirements

· Doctorate degree (MD or PhD) or Masters (MSc) in computer science or related

· Experience in image processing and analysis in cardiac MRI is preferred

· A team player and also able to work independently, demonstrating effective collaboration skills

You will be part of the data science research team reporting to the Project Lead. Your responsibilities include managing research projects, facilitating all required documentation and financial records for project activities, and tracking progress to ensure both short-term and long-term goals are met. You will conduct interim project reviews and measure project performance. Additionally, you will assist the Project Lead in managing, guiding, supervising and reviewing the performance of the project team members.

Job Requirements:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics, Biomedical Science, Health Science, Computer Science/Engineering or its equivalent with advance proficiency in Project Management. PMP certification is preferred.

· At least 3-5 years’ relevant work experience in data science/ analytics/ research and healthcare. Prior work experience in implementing national-level programme and cardiovascular medicine setting would be an advantage.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and data management, with experience in relational databases in healthcare settings.

· Proficiency in risk management and performance measurement tools

· Strong interpersonal skills. Past experience in supervising junior staff would be an advantage.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to translate complex technical concepts in simple layman’s terms.

· Leading, executing and managing a public-private partnership programme.

· Providing valuable intellectual contributions and strategic insights for the overall programme and its projects.

· Engaging and managing key stakeholders, both internal and external, across hospitals, research institutions, and industry partners.

· Overseeing administrative tasks such as facilitating meetings, managing agreements, generating reports, and budgeting to ensure the smooth operation of the programme
