Our client was incorporated in June 1998 as an oil trading company. Its management is well entrenched in the oil trading fraternity combined experiences in various aspects of oil refining, international oil trading and oil finance. This gives the company the necessary breath, depth and understanding of oil trading and oil finance.
Such background has enabled the company to build a strong presence in oil producing regions such as West Africa, Mediterranean, Arabian Gulf, and the Asia Pacific. Through the network built by the team, the company has garnered support from various trading partners, refiners and end receivers to build a steady flow of cargo movement.
Overview of Role
You will ensure that scheduling and day-to-day operations are running smoothly and that any problems are flagged at an early stage to minimize costs. This role reports to the Chief of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with traders, manage cargo movements, create schedules and nominations based on the supply and demand plan.
- Establish good working relationships with counterparties, alongside internal and external stakeholders.
- Issue, review and/or trade confirmations, contracts and/or letters of credits
- Liaise with Inspector, agent, ship brokers, trade counterparties, storage terminals and internal departments to ensure smooth physical operation, ships meet statutory regulations and availability of quality certificates and test samples.
- Invoice customers and pay our suppliers /service provider's invoices.
- Assist with KYC and counterparty registration.
- Consolidating tender invitation, sending reminders to respective Trading Desks and recording all bids/offers/information known.
Profile
- You should have both crude oil and/or product operations experience.
- Able to correspond with counterparties/banks.
- Willing and able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Mature, independent, self-motivated and a team player.
- At least 3 years trade operations experience in energy and/or commodities industry.
- Preferably can start work immediately/short notice.
- Exposure to Chinese teapot refineries is a benefit.
