Role Description
The Communication Specialist Intern is responsible for supporting communication initiatives that enhance the organization’s brand, reputation, and stakeholder engagement. This includes assisting with public relations, creating marketing materials, and maintaining consistent messaging across platforms. The intern will coordinate events, draft content, and analyze media coverage and campaign performance to provide insights that improve communication strategies.
Key Area of Responsibilities:
Marketing Communications:
- Support the creation of marketing materials, including newsletters, presentations, blog posts, and social media content.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop marketing strategies that align with the organization’s goals.
- Coordinate and support internal and external events, including conferences, webinars, and promotional campaigns.
Content Creation & Brand Messaging:
- Develop consistent messaging across all communications channels (website, social media, internal communications, etc.).
- Assist in creating content for the company’s website, social media, email newsletters, and press kits.
- Ensure brand voice and guidelines are adhered to in all written and visual communications.
Corporate Communications:
- Provide communications support including preparing presentations, reports, and correspondence.
- Coordinate and track progress on key communication initiatives, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
- Maintain up-to-date communication strategies and media contact databases.
- Draft and edit speeches, and talking points for the senior leadership
Internal Communications:
- Work with leadership to communicate corporate goals, vision, and updates to employees
- Prepare and distribute internal communications that enhance employee engagement and awareness of key initiatives.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Monitor the success of PR and marketing campaigns and provide regular updates to the leadership team.
- Analyze media coverage, website traffic, and social media engagement, providing actionable insights.
Minimum Academic Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, Creative Writing, or a related field.
Competencies:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication for drafting reports and internal communications.
- Ability to tailor messaging for various audiences and platforms.
- Proficiency in creating engaging content for websites, social media and newsletters.
