Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial and Cost management, including Manufacturing accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget, and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The responsibilities will also include financial risk management.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations in SAP including Billing, Capex, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Participate in operational excellence programs and new initiatives.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance

Position Overview:

This position reports to SBU Head, Dairy Ingredients and Solutions based in Singapore. The individual will work closely with Plant, shipping, and sales team.

What you will do:

• Strategic Leadership: Oversee the strategic direction and development of the nutrition division, specifically focusing on the commercialization of infant base powders from the plant in Malaysia. Ensure alignment with the company’s overall business goals.
• Product Commercialization: Lead the process of bringing infant base powders to market, from initial concept through to launch. This includes overseeing product development, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing the go-to-market strategy.
• Sales Channel Development: Establish and develop efficient sales channels for the nutrition business. This involves identifying potential market segments, setting up distribution networks, and fostering partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure wide market reach and penetration.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the manufacturing plant to ensure production capabilities are aligned with business objectives. This includes collaborating on production planning, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product offerings.
• Market Analysis and Business Expansion: Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning. Use insights to guide business development efforts and explore opportunities for expanding the product portfolio or entering new markets.
• Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet local and international regulatory standards. Oversee quality assurance processes to maintain high-quality standards across all nutrition products.
• Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets related to the nutrition business unit, including production costs, marketing expenses, and sales forecasts. Monitor financial performance and adjust strategies as needed to meet revenue and profitability targets.
• Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing team. Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to achieve business and professional development Building entire sales structure to market these products in Asian market.
• Setting sales targets (volume and margin), assign strategic account objectives and focus on business development with the customers.
• Explore possibility to expand our offering from our other operations in NZ.
• Work with a cross functional team to achieve objectives which includes driving portfolio growth, R&D, marketing etc.
• The candidate will be responsible for building this business from scratch and delivering set objectives over the next few years.

Who we are looking for:

• Minimum 10-15 years of experience and exposure to direct sales/commercial or account management experience in food/ingredient in Asia markets.
• Built solid relationships with major ingredients/nutrition customers especially by selling various food products
• Able to influence cross functional stakeholders, with direct sales experience in developing account relationships with strategic customers; demonstrated results in growing business with customers and delivering margin growth.

SENIOR RISK MANAGER

Executive Summary

An opportunity has arisen to join the food ingredients arm of Olam International in Singapore within the Risk Management Group, providing hands-on Credit, Counterparty & Market risk support to the Company’s businesses globally. Job Description

Credit and Counterparty Risk Monitoring (primary responsibility)

• Measurement, monitoring and control of credit and counterparty risks on assigned products within the ofi portfolio
• Generate regular analysis on credit and counterparty reports and propose mitigations
• Participate in risk and trading meetings and conference calls with Business Units and Risk Management Group
• Monitor exposures against limits and escalate in accordance with internal risk policy
• Articulating current and potential risks, performing sensitivity analysis on exposures and flagging off risk events to the Business teams proactively
• Ensure that risk exposures are correctly captured and reported in the system, identifying any gaps in exposure reporting and driving resolution of issues
• Evaluate proposals and present recommendations on credit and counterparty risk limits for new and existing businesses, and as part of the annual risk budgeting exercise

Market Risk monitoring (additional responsibility based on candidate’s skill set/ past experience)

• Monitor exposures for assigned product against limits and escalate in accordance with internal risk policy
• Articulating current and potential risks, performing sensitivity analysis on exposures and flagging off risk events to the Business teams proactively
• Monitoring VaR limits, creating risk reports, highlighting key risk exposures, etc.
• Maintain high levels of internal stakeholder engagement at all levels to continually improve the risk profile of the business and to work closely with the business and country teams to ensure that commercial requirements are understood and acted upon so as to inculcate and maintain effective business and risk control.

Qualifications and required skills:

• Graduate degree in a Finance, economics, accounting, etc. Post graduate degree (e.g.: Masters, PhD) and/or professional qualification (e.g. FRM/ CFA) desirable but not compulsory depending on experience
• 10 years of risk management experience covering Credit, Counterparty in investment bank / commodities trading house / clearing broker. Prior experience in market risk is a positive
• Strong analytic skills and proven knowledge in commodities products and markets
• Attention to detail but an ability to distil complex information into readily digestible communication (both written and oral) at all levels

ofi Vendor Quality Food Safety Manager

This will be a global role taking responsibility for organizing and facilitating the global Supplier Management Community of Excellence .

As the global facilitator for the supplier quality assurance program the successful candidate will ensure forward control in the supply chain to ensure high quality and food safe ingredients and packaging material is delivered to our sites. The role will include reviewing the supplier base, audit global planning and managing the performance monitoring of global vendors.

Scope of the role

In this role the global facilitator will define and lead the deployment of the Supplier management program as defined in the global standard. This will include but is not limited to supplier documentation management, coordinating supplier auditing and the accommodating system roll-out to manage and track the supplier performance. The successful applicant will report to the Regional Quality & Food Safety Lead.

Key deliverables

• Understand the global Supplier base, the risk assessment of vendors and materials and accordingly prioritize vendor assessment needs.
• Governance and planning of Supplier Audits, practices and documentation
• Define and deploy the global best practices for the ofi supplier quality management, including all ingredient, packaging suppliers, co-manufacturers and co-packers.
• Define the right risk-based approach to steer and prioritize the supplier management program, globally.
• Build a cadre of auditors across all regions and ensure calibration program
• Collaborate with procurement to develop processes to review supplier performance and the right follow-through with our suppliers
• Work closely with ofi site quality managers to support complaint raising in cases of incoming goods incidences and supports vendors if needed in their RCA.
• Support regions to build a supplier auditing schedule and co-ordinate the audit program with the different locations/regions.
• Lead the performance program review for all incoming materials, incl. co-manufacturers and co-packers.
• Define, develop and deployment of the right systems to support the supplier data management, supplier audit reporting, supplier performance and supplier review.

Qualifications and Competences

• International management experience in project management and motivating teams.
• Skilled in the FSC22000-certification and experience in manufacturing sites and supply chain.
