We are currently hiring a Sub Editor to join our editorial team and ensure the publication of high quality, accurate and engaging content.
Main Responsibilities of a Sub Editor
Your responsibilities will include:
- Liaising with the Lead Editor
- Editing other writers’ submissions into tight, clear and readable pieces
- Writing headlines, picture captions and story summaries
- Identifying inconsistencies, ambiguities and factual inaccuracies (in language and content)
- Identifying engaging stories and angles for content pieces
- Designing social media posts
Key Requirements
- You should have a degree/diploma in Journalism, Communications or a related field
- You have prior experience as a sub-editor or writer
- You have good language skills in written English and Malay (optional)
- You have a creative flair and are adept at designing attractive social media posts
- You are organized and pay attention to detail
- You can deliver high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines
