Responsibilities:
· Daily monitoring of assigned vessel to maintain the vessel in safe operations.
· Managing compliance with necessary IMO & Statutory Conventions.
· Shipboard familiarisation, training & safety drills
· Communication with Flag State, Port State, Classification Society & other government bodies.
· Health, safety, security & environmental management Assessing into computerized safety management system for reviews and closing of reports
· Carry out investigation and root cause analysis for non-conformance report, accident, and incident.
· Prepare vessel for third party vetting inspections for Tankers / Bulk Carrier and following up submissions to the third party.
· Monitor and maintain the assigned vessel’s conforms to class and statutory periodical surveys and internal & external audits. To plan and arrange for Surveyors attendance of same.
· Inspect assigned fleet periodically according to Company's policy and to submit written report.
· Liaise with Technical Superintendent, Master or Chief Engineer on the vessel's maintenance programme and on operational matters.
· Coordination with Chartering Department and the masters for cargo carriage / operation matters.
· Monitors fleet's navigational, deck and cargo operation efficiency, ship and crew safety policies.
· Informs vessels of National, Class, International regulations, and rules in force.
· Carry out vessel routine inspection and visits.
· Liaise with Masters on maintenance of LSA/FFA equipment.
· Vetting of Senior Deck officers for employment on vessels.
Requirements:
· Candidate must possess Master Mariner (unlimited) Class 1 Certificate of Competence (COC).
· Preferably with oil & chemical tanker sailing experience.
· ISM/ISO/ISPS Auditor qualification is an advantage.
· Willing to travel & sail with vessel for short voyages and evaluate problems and assist management.
· Familiar with international and local maritime regulations and requirements.
· Well versed in English & computer literate (i.e. MS Applications).
· Strong team player with good interpersonal skills.
· Good communication & leadership skill to motivate marine team & crews.
· Able to manage multiple priorities & work under pressure.
· Proactive, team worker, hardworking and detailed are essential qualities.
· Strong sense of integrity and professionalism.
· Around 1 - 2 years plus shored-based Master experience are encouraged to apply.
