Our client is a leading global real estate investment manager with a strong Asia foothold. Data Centre is one of the key areas of their business. Currently their Data Centre business has a presence in 8 countries over 27 locations.
They are looking for a Manager, Design & Development. This role will report to Director, Design & Development. The ideal candidate should be a Data Centre Electrical/ Mechanical Subject Matter Expect (SME). He/She will be responsible for overseeing projects development, reviewing solutions, and Built-To-Suit applications for Data Centres. This incumbent will be part of the solutions team to support sales and consult with customers in the Global Data Centre business.

- Supervise, assist, and facilitate collaboration among regional development teams, consultants, and internal departments to grasp project requirements, scope, and needs, ensuring successful product delivery.
- Examine necessary development and design documentation to confirm their alignment with project requirements, ensuring they offer a strong value proposition for the company.
- Provide SME engineering support to the DC team during project life cycle in terms of process, tools required, procedures, regulatory compliance, Dos and Don’ts, technical interpretations and support, and ensure quality
- In a consultative manner, work with and support the Sales team in technical sales and solutions in all markets including:
->Direct prospect engagements, including leading building and site
tours, sales calls and proposal generation, and pricing and
contract negotiations
-> Evaluate customer needs, and then architect and present a
preliminary solution together with other SMEs in the team
-> Generate sales leads through professional contacts and
networking
- Participate in forecasting, pipeline, market analysis and evaluate trends in prospect, customer and target tenant base
- Collaborate with the professional community by participating in technical forums and delivering presentations at industry events.
skills & experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 6 to 8 years’ experience in the mechanical or electrical engineering field, of which 4 years in designing mechanical or electrical systems for critical facilities such as data centres
- In-depth understanding of systems design
- Understanding on best practices and standards in systems design, installation and operation requirement
- Technical savvy with deep experience in Data Centre, Cloud, Hybrid Cloud and Telecommunications and Networking
- Expert application software skills in MS Projects, MS Word, MS Excel, Visio, AutoCAD
- Willingness for short duration overseas travel
