As an Automation Engineer at ResMed, you'll play a crucial role in developing and implementing Automation for manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities and documents, in order to meet the current and future production volume, quality, OHS and cost requirements.

Key deliverables include new capacity cell setup and process validation for design and/or process changes for both new and existing products.

• Design and Implement Automation Solutions: Develop and deploy automation systems and processes to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce manual labour, and improve overall productivity. This includes designing control systems, programming PLCs, and integrating automation equipment.
• Optimize Manufacturing Processes: Analyse existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Conduct regular assessments and adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and Maintain Automation Systems: Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of automation equipment and control systems. Ensure that all systems operate reliably and resolve any technical issues that arise promptly to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with Product Development and Production Teams: Work closely with Product Development and production teams to understand their needs and provide technical support for automation projects. Ensure that automation solutions align with production goals and comply with safety and quality standards.
• Process Validation & Documentation: Perform DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ activities & ensure accurate documentation.

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience

Required:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering or Physics
• Minimum 3 years proven experience in Automation
• Proven experience in Industrial Automation, Robotics Systems, Vision Systems, HMI, PLC, PC based programming in Manufacturing environment

Preferred:

• Relevant certifications in automation or control systems (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Allen Bradley, Omron)
• Experienced in Automation Design
• Experienced in Jigs & Fixtures Design, Material Selection, Fabrication Methods and Components Selection are advantageous
• Excellent technical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues with automation systems and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

•Design Authority: As a key player in the Product Lifecycle Engineering (PLE) specialization,

organizational mission, directing and managing employees and resources effectively.•
•Cross-functional Interaction: Regularly engage with internal stakeholders, customers, and

About You:
To excel as an Associate Manager in PLE, you need to be an innovative problem solver with strong
analytical skills and excellent communication. You have proven experience leading a high performing team
of engineers and poses strong project management skills with the ability to set team priorities with crossfunctional input.

Qualifications and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely
related discipline.
•Proven expertise in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving, using recognized
methods and techniques.

•Experience with controlled documents, change note processes, engineering drawings, and

geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

Preferred:

• Ability to analyze and solve problems without clear precedent.

A thorough understanding of manufacturing operations and/or the product development

lifecycle

• Deep knowledge of motor and/or rotary components.

Solid understanding of sound (noise) and vibration theory, testing, equipment, and data

analysis.

•Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment in a highly regulated industry,

preferably medical devices.
