Job Description

• Responsible for the preparation of a full set of accounts for an overseas entity
• Prepare and maintain various journal entries, schedules and reconciliation reports
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing and reporting
• Fixed assets management
• Monitors cash flow and performs budgetary planning
• Facilitate external audit, prepare and review audit schedules and liaise with auditors
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, organization policies and board decisions
• All other finance-related responsibilities

Qualifications

Minimum Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualifications

Job Requirements

• Min of 5 years of relevant experiences
• Knowledge of Oracle ERP system will be an advantage
• Proficient in written and spoken Burmese for Myanmar Region
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently and supervise the work of the local team
• Meticulous, technically competent with strong analytical & problem-solving skills Able to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks

The Assistant Corps Leader is expected to strive for the substantial progress of the corps, not being content for things to just be maintained.

The key responsibilities include:

1. Soul winning – to work towards the conversion of the unsaved of the local community, irrespective of their attendance at Army meetings.
2. Lead meetings and special events giving the opportunity for people to come together during the week for fellowship, prayer, Bible Study and training in salvation warfare. Provide regular opportunities for those not connected to the corps to hear and respond to the gospel. To conduct funeral wakes & cremations services when required.
3. Undertake Pastoral Care providing effective care and visitation to both the saved and the unsaved.
4. Nurture (disciple) the soldiers, recruits, adherents, Junior Soldier’s and new believers of the Corps ensuring there is an intentional and identifiable discipleship plan in place for all ages of the corps. This must include members being educated in Biblical insight, theology, Salvation Army doctrine and personal application through preaching and teaching.
5. Soldiership (Senior and Junior) is to be promoted as a meaningful response and expression of being in a covenant relationship with God. Therefore,the corps leader will conduct soldier preparation classes at regular times.
6. The Assistant Corps Leader should strive to identify and develop candidates for Officership supporting them through all stages of the process.
7. Identify and train local officers, Sunday school workers, youth leaders and cell groups leaders.
8. Coordinate Sunday School activities;youth activities and cell group activities.
9. Engage in corps community out-reach activities.
10. Ensure the smooth running of Corps dealing with all difficulties that arise amongst the Salvationists or are created by outsiders.
11. Manage the property used in connection with corps operations, finance relating to local, territorial and international appeals and general corps business including the proper keeping of books and records (including statistics).
12. Develop short and long-term goals for development, growth and soldier- making in line with the Territorial Strategic Mission Plan.
13. Promote The Salvation Army’s mission and values. Teaching and imparting a practical understanding of the Doctrines of The Salvation Army.
14. Ensure that you and all those in your Corps who work with children are trained in the Territory’s Child Protection Policy.
15. Any other duties as directed by Army leaders from time to time.

Job Responsibilities:

• To support the Thai cadets in classes, meetings and events over the following aspects:

i)Simultaneous interpretation of teaching, message and communication in English to Thai

ii)Explaining teaching materials and communications in English to them with appropriate reference to their language, culture and context.

iii) Assisting them in understanding and meeting all instructions and requirements for their study, training and participation.

iv) Interpreting their responses to English whenever necessary

v) Making record and report any relevant issues or challenges arised.

• To facilitate English learning and provide tutorials to the Thai cadets on weekly basis.
• To be familiar with relevant TSA system and terminologies by studying documents and consulting training officers and other resources if necessary.
• To facilitate effective communication for the Thai cadets by clarifying any cultural or linguistic differences where arised.
• To translate and contextualize learning materials and ministry resources in English to Thai for the Thai cadets in study, training and ministry practices that they have efficient and effective learning.
• To manage good use of the interpreting equipment and techniques, and keep safe of the equipment (microphones, headsets) and other tools or materials provided.
• To observe and comply with relevant TSA policies, professional and ethical standards, including those on confidentiality, conflict of interests and impartiality.
• Any other relevant work tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Minimal tertiary education in English and being proficient in Thai language
• Extensive experience in simultaneous interpretation of English and Thai in meetings and conferences.
• Sufficient skills in understanding religious materials and ministry resources in English, and capability for translating and contextualising them to Thai.
• With basic knowledge of The Salvation Army system and terminologies and supportive attitude to our mission, vision and values.
