The ITAD Technician is responsible for the secure and efficient processing of IT assets for disposal, recycling, or resale. The role involves handling a variety of electronic equipment, ensuring data destruction, and adhering to environmental and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Processing: Inspect, test, and categorize IT assets for resale, recycling, or disposal.
- Data Destruction: Perform data wiping, shredding, and degaussing to ensure data security and compliance with regulations.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing assets, and update inventory systems.
- Refurbishment: Repair and refurbish IT equipment to extend its life and prepare it for resale.
- Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
- Reporting: Generate reports on asset processing, data destruction, and inventory status.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality checks to ensure high standards are met in all ITAD processes.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to clients, addressing any concerns or questions regarding their IT assets.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in IT or electronics preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in ITAD, electronics recycling, or a related field is desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in data destruction techniques, electronic testing, and repair. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
