As one of the fastest growing retail supermarket, you play a vital role in ensuring the seamless execution of front-end and back-end activities within your designated product category. You will lead a team, maintain high merchandising standards, drive sales, and contribute to the overall success of the store. Your responsibility extends to achieving departmental goals, fostering a positive working environment, and continuously improving store operations.
Job Description:
- Schedule and manage department staff effectively, ensuring adequate coverage and optimal
productivity.
- Communicate job expectations clearly to staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, particularly with the Store Manager and Area Category Manager, to ensure alignment with departmental objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing motivation, feedback, and development
opportunities as needed.
- Set departmental goals, evaluate outcomes, and manage departmental budget and forecasting
requirements to optimize performance and profitability.
- Work closely with the Store Manager to implement promotions and manage inventory effectively
to boost sales and meet customer demand.
- Analyze business performance to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats,
developing and implementing solutions to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
- Oversee stock-take, write-off procedures, and pricing strategies based on gross profit and stock
balance to minimize shrinkage and maximize profitability.
- Generate ideas and updates for planograms to optimize product placement and availability,
especially during out-of-stock situations.
- Oversee quality assurance procedures, including documenting before and after pictures, to ensure
product quality and safety standards are met.
- Handle and document incident reports promptly and effectively to address any issues or concerns.
- Develop and mentor staff, identifying potential successors and inspiring personal growth to build a
strong and capable team.
Requirements:
- At least 1-2 yrs in a similar role with supervisory & management experience in a supermarket environment
- Strong communication & time management skills
- Able to commit to rotating shifts (opening & closing hours)
Requirements:
- 6 days work week; Willing to work on weekend
- Candidate with experience in retails industry (especially in Supermarket or F&B experience) will be an added advantage
- Pay range between $3500 to $5500
